Hey all, there is a guy who wants to race when i get back to college here in a couple of weeks. He is a decent driver and he sent his mods list to a friend of mine who sent it to me. here it is...

1. Flowmaster exhaust (soon to be SLP loudmouth, maybe 5-10hp... maybe)
2. 160 degree thermostat
3. K&N filter (10-20hp)
4. Custom HYPERTECH POWER PROGRAMER III computer mod (just did that a few hours ago, good for 25 - 30 hp)
5. Throttle body coolant bypass (5-6hp)
6. Skip shift eleminator
7. Lots of pretty color wire looms and a yellow fire exstinguisher inside!
8. New 1LE Rubber intake boot with NO AIR SILENCER (3-7hp)
9. MAF sensor screen was removed (1hp MAX)
10. sooo... if we take a stock LT1 engine that makes 285hp, and add the lowest possible hp to my car... you get an LT1 that makes about 334hp.... not too shabby...ummm... lets see... when i used my power programer, i put a 6200 RPM rev limiter on it, removed any and all speed limiters, added a custom fuel/air ratio to it, and so on... cool... and the rev limiter is DEFINETLY at 6200 RPMs

Soo.... thats what he's packin in his lt1. By the time i go back i will have all the mods in my sig pluss frpp 3.73:1 gears, and a steeda timing adjuster. how you think i will do??? thanks

I think that, if he can drive well, he'll win. Should be pretty close though. Your 3.73's aren't going to help as much as if he was an A4 car. With him being an M6 he already has 3.42's.

He's bullcrapping about the programmer, I'd pay to see an LT1 get 20-30hp from that alone...hahahahaha

Get 4.10 gears & radials, it'll be a drivers race. You have a slight weight advantage while he has a slight HP advantage.

He is not getting anywhere near those hp gains from the filter, tb bypass or Hypercrap.

I didn't realize you had headers.

Go with 4.10 gears and I'll say this race is all yours.

yeah we have the bridgestone potenza pole positions on it. they are z rated and have a very similar tread design to the nitto555rs. They are just deeper. I really like them and was wondering if anybody has heard anything about their quality for racing and traction.

SLP Loudmouth will give him more than just 5-10 HP.... with his mods, plus the programmer, i'd say he'll win... remember, the programmer tunes the car somewhat to be able to use his mods the way they need to be.

From when i have done Mods.... the HPPIII is nothing at all, he is gaining probably 10 hp...

it will be a drivers race, but right now he has the top end of you. It will be close, but dont be too surprised if he edges you out

That LT1 is stock.

I wouldn't call a TB coolant bypass a mod, along with a Flowmaster muffler.

The programmer will do nothing for a stock car, nadda, nil, 0, zero.

LT1's are a drivers race stock for stock with a 99+ GT. Look who has more mods...legit mods at that...

yeah, but doesnt he have a manual? I dunno maybe it is an automatic but I thought it was a 6speed. That eliminates any help from the programmer for the tranny. thanks for the info guys.

He can only adjust his air/fuel then I believe. Well, eliminate any governors also.
