I would have thought it would have been the other way around. Evo's genrally launch off the line very well but then lose steam in the higher gears. But yeah an EVO 8 is a faster machine so good death!!!!

I agree with you C6 Vette. I would have thought he would have killed you in first few gears and then you would have started to pull. Maybe he had a set of cams you didn't know about. Those will definitely beef up the top end. I'm so proud of my 272's!! :)

Thanks BicketyBam. 12.2 is not bad but it's killing me that I can't get into the 11's... :( With a trap of 115, I should be there but still can't. The biggest mod yet to come, "me".. haha Practice makes perfect.

Im surprised you held him off the line. Nice driving. And anyways no one would expect a stock GT to keep up with the evo 8. theyr pretty bada**. Mod it a little so you can kill the evo next time. Once you start you wont stop...

I have an 06 STI and people on the STI forum have cars with similiar numbers (hp/tq) as yours and they can't get into the 11's.
that not neccesarily the case w/ the newer MR version... thats a bad bytch.
w/ say, an 03-04 Evo lll , they're dogs 3-5 (or 6?) and can potentialy get owned by a stock manual GT from a roll. The newer MR walked on me from 2nd tho , and i put a car or more on the 3 i ran prior to that murking.... sweet lookin car tho - and i wouldnt mind that nifty suspension
Nice death, and nice run Nvr2Old32! A friend of mine has an MR, and ran a similar number to you on his race gas tune of ~340whp. He also had 272 cams, a MBC, straight pipes, intake, and a tune from Shiv @ Vishnu.
BicketyBam is right, I can't recall anyone breaking into the 11s on a stock STi turbo, although I could definitely be wrong. I'm not sure what it is that requires more hp for an STi to get lower 1/4 times... I think it could either be the stock gearing (which isn't optimal for straight line acceleration) or the fact that not a ton of people actually consistently run their STis at the track. It is a much more popular car for road racing / autoX. I feel like a lot of STi owners will take their car to the track maybe a couple of times just to see what they could do with it, then sort of give up. As you said, practice makes perfect and makes all the difference in lowering your times!
