Zellanor -> Wheel hop (9/4/2006 8:35:38 AM)

I have a 05GT stock. when i am roasting the tires, I get about 20 foot of solid burnout and then the rearend starts to hop. Is there anything I can do to keep this from happening?

Yes: new lower control arms in the rear. This is a big weak link in the factory suspension.

use the forum search feature, there are many past threads that discuss this.

Do you have traction control on when trying to do this? I know one time I tried to burnout and forgot I had the traction control on becase I couldnt see it (radar detector plugged into that slot) and it wheelhopped shortly after I let off the brakes... but that was the ONLY time its ever happened...

But you may as well get the suspension stuff.. it will help with other stuff too. [:D]

I added the roush ones to mine and it cured the wheel hop. quite a difference in strenmght compared to stock
