Default passing vehicles

When I took my car for a drive today I noticed that when I pass a vehicle and dump it back into 4th it will sometimes fall on its face for a second then go. What would cause this? It also seems to be bucking a little when taking it to high rpms in 4th. Is this that fuel pump tsb, or is it something else? Thanks

i would guess that when you say fall on its face...you mean hesitates for a minute. Are you at cruising speeds for a while because yes, that is the fuel pump TSB, or "hesitation on acceleration after a long cruise"

Hey Green,

I notice you have some mods, such as exhaust on your car. Do you have a custom tune as well? I can't say that my stock 06 5spd does that..

Yes, this happens after cruising for a while. All the mods I have are listed, I do not have a tune or anything like that. How does one get this fixed through the dealership, do I need to take a paper stating the tsb or do they know about it already.

If it were me I would go in and explain just how you did here in that after crusing for a while if you step on it that it stalls out or falls off. They should know why, tell them it acts like its not getting fuel, could it be the fuel pump? Could it be a clogged fuel filter? Present it to them like you have not heard about it.

The reason I say that is because some dealers get a little pissy when customers come in with TSB'S in hand wanting the dealer to repair something. Why do they get pissy? Who knows, maybe they sometimes feel a customer don't really have a problem but since they read about it they want it corrected anyway.

If that fails you can then go back with a TSB in hand because they did not repair it and you decided to do some research. At least you give the dealer a chance to do the right thing and that's a 50/50 shot at best...
