If this is repost.... sorry, but I couldn't find it explicitly said through the search function.
Did you know that simply HAVING aftermarket parts on your car CANNOT void the factory warranty? I was curious if the Steeda UDP's did anything to my warranty and when I called Steeda, one of their guys directed me to this website...
SEMA
I was pleased to see this part the most... "With regard to aftermarket parts, the spirit of the law is that warranty coverage cannot be denied simply because such parts are present on the vehicle, or have been used (see Attachment A).The warranty coverage can be denied only if the aftermarket part caused the malfunction or damage for which warranty coverage is sought."
Basically as I understand it (and was told by the guy at Steeda), they CANNOT VOID your warranty for simply the presence of aftermarket parts. They can only deny coverage of a particular repair it they feel/can prove that the damage was due to an aftermarket part. But even then, that single repair can only be denied, your warranty cannot be voided.
I was very happy to see this and thought that everyone should be aware of it. I've been in many threads that talk about what parts WILL VOID your warranty and I was leary about buying these parts and how easily I could remove them if I had to go to the dealership.
Anyway... hope this helps someone and please let me know if I've misinterpretted this in anyway.
