The VIN does match! But they went to pick it up and it was a GT converted to a Saleen! I signed the contract with Ford Credit and so did the dealership. What should I do?

I think you have a case, do you still have all your paper work? They have two options, sell you the car as is, or take the SC off. A friend of mine bought a loaded Nissan Altima, and when she went to pick it up, they put 18 inch chrome wheels on it, and tried to charge her. I was with her, told her the vin's match and we are there to take the car. They ended up leaving the wheels on after some colorful words from me.

Make sure there is no fine print on your contract. But that may be your car dude.

Make them pay for their mistake and get that Saleen for the price of a GT!!!

The hard part about considering legal action though is that they guy who sold it to me is a friend from the dealership. They even went back and looked at the invoice and it showed that it had a FULL Saleen package on it.

That stinks man, hopefully you'll get your new car soon. Cars last a few years, but friendships last a lifetime. Do you have another car in the meantime?

The salesmen is not a real close friend, he did give me a good deal on it as a GT. He also gave a good deal to my girl who bought a white V6 today. I hate to do this to him, but I wanted a GT! I could be driving one around right now if they would have just read the invoice that showed there was a Saleen package added to this GT!

I'm in agreement with everyone else, there was a contract with the VIN for a certain car. They screwed up, they need to get you a car or face legal action.

Burd has another thread going on the 2005+ forum. He's already consulted a lawyer who told him he doesn't stand a chance if he pursues this. The transaction was never completed because he did not take delivery of the car. In fact, it never left the other dealership (it was supposed to be a dealer trade).
