Hey all
whats the best way to install a kill switch? I've been thinking of buying one for some time now and i think I'm going to make it this weekend's project.

thanks in advance

Default RE: Kill Switch

If you have electronic ign just interupt the positive wire that comes from the ignition switch to the coil. If you have points you can run a wire from the negative on the coil to the kill switch and then from the kill switch to any ground. When the circuit closes it grounds the coil and you get no spark.

67coupe has the better idea. You can interupt the electricy to the starter in several ways, but are usually pretty obvoius to someone try to start the car. The coil thing generally is more of a obutse, because it's not obvious what the problem is. The car just acts like it won't start! Whereas if you bypass the starter, the potential theif is going to start looking for a kill switch.
