Default Is my transmission going

<P class=Msonormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">I think my 4R70W transmission is going out<IMG src=smileys/smiley19.gif border="0">.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Sometimes when it shifts to 4<SUP>th</SUP> gear it feels like it’s slipping or something. <SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"></SPAN>This only happens when I’m slowly accelerating. <SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"></SPAN>It’s kind of like if you shifted a manual too early and it shakes.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>It doesn’t shake really bad but I can feel it.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>My car has 84,000 miles and the fluid on the dipstick smells burnt.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>I took it to a transmission shop and they said NOT to change the fluid because my transmission is going out and the new fluid would dissolve the clutches. <SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"></SPAN>Is this true or are they trying to make my transmission fail so they get the $1,400 + faster? <SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"></SPAN>I always thought that bad fluid could make a transmission run poorly and changing it would help.</P></FONT>

add a can of trans x it will help you. wont totally fix the problem but it will allow you to get some time to locate a tranny because yours is going to go out soon. sorry about the bad news. the shop you too it to was telling you the truth about the tranny fluid. sorry about the bad news,
