Was out with some buddies and one of them behind me (had to be the guy in the WRX) thought I was goign and bumped me. Not too bad, but one of the bolt for his license plate made a nice round gouge in my rear bumper cover. Looks like I'll need it filled in and painted. I'm assuming this is a pretty simple procedure and could be taken care of quickly, am I correct?
they are gonna need to repaint your whole bumper which is the expensive part.. if you get them to blend the paint after a little time it will show and its gonna be ugly
i was quoted almost 300$ to redo my bumper

You can probably find a prepainted take off for cheaper than a repair, plus if you have been thinking about duals if you don't already have them you can get a GT take off.

I have a similar problem with my windveil front bumper. I went to my dealership - they told me they gave someone who can come in and "melt it back into shape" said they even fix HOLES with the method, and then can paint the spot for about 100 - 150 bucks. Not really excited about the method... so as for now, the bumper has the big ass ding on it. Looks likes you are windveil blue as well. A few folks have told me that getting a windveil take off is hard.
If you can wait a while, maybe we could go in on a ake off kit, and split the bumpers :) -- unfortunately, I have reached my spending cap on my car for a few weeks. :(
I already have duels so unfortunatly, its not that simple. I put the GT bumper on in November and it was a pain in the butt to redo the wireing harness, so i'm not really lookign forward to that again. Since I'm eyeing a hood scoop I might wait till I get that and get both parts painted at the same time then.
also make sure HE pays for it, not you, when you hit someone from behind it is automatically their fault, i used to date a cops daughter.....
Hmm? I got cut off and hit someone from behind and didn't pay for anything for them. Though from the way he said it, it probably was his fault. Just stating its not always that way. In the case of a pileup too I think, say the guy in front of you hits the guy in front of him and you can't stop and hit him it usually wont be your fault either.
Sorry to hear that man! That sucks - was that after the BBQ this afternoon? Rain was too much by me and decided to hang by the house.
I would just get a whole new bumper from Div Marketing or Pauly. Some places can't repaint certain bumpers that well and within a year or so they start to peel. It's probably cheaper to just get a whole new painted bumper anyway. It's the time and PITA of swapping it that sucks... Hope it wokrs out

depends on the state. In New Jersey if you are in stopped traffic and the person in front reverses into you it is in fact YOUR fault. And if you hit somebody in the rear and they hit the person in front of them part of the second collision is your fault and the rest is the car you hit's fault. But in any case in NJ unless the person gets out and yells "IT WAS MY FAULT" you are responsible for whats in front of you.
