Ok, I told the story of me going to the track last Friday in MD's new video thread about going to the semi-finals of a Mustang Shootout at my track and getting beat out by a '03-'04 Cobra by only .10 of a second. I thought the guy was just kidding when he told me that he runs low 14's in that car. I was in total awe when I saw I was still next to him at the end of the quarter. I thought I was just driving good that night and he couldnt get traction.
Well here is where the story begins. I went out looking for a place I have to meet for PT (physical training) in the morning because I had only been there once and didnt remember how to get there. Well I found it and went about my way. I wasnt in the mood to go home yet so I cruised down the popular street named Rancier Av, where all the ricers go hang out and people do the red light to red light thing. Anyhow, I pulled up on a red civic with a fart can, a 94-98 GT and a BRAND NEW COBRA!!! It still had the dealers plates on it. I was in the mood to play and having the sensation of knowing if the guy at the track was really racing or not, I had to race this guy. So we get to a red light side by side pretty quick (the civic and other GT bugged out at the last light) I looked over at the guy and gave a nod and a snicker. We were waiting for the light to turn green and I inched up, reving the engine and he didnt move. I was so hoping he was going to take my offer. Now the light turns green and we're off! We were side by side in first, second he pulled maybe a half an inch before I was right back with him, and I thought for sure I was going to miss thrid seeing as how I was power shifting like no other to keep up, but I didnt and I was still RIGHT besides him!!! I dont know exactly how fast we got, but I was at the top end of third and we were still side by side when he hit the brakes and started to stop. I COULDNT BELIEVE IT!!! My heart was about to pump itself out of my chest!
Well all in all we went through three lights and at the fourth he had his passanger window down and I asked him what he had done to it and he said just Flowmasters. I think he was a little depressed because he just rolled up the window on me as I was trying to talk to him, and he went about his way.

I'm sorry but a 03/04 Cobra are nearly mid 12 second cars in coupe form The VERT has been know to run 12.7's stock....No GT without some type of power adder will be able to keep up with one...That guy really need to practice on his driving...I see your list of mods...and sounds like you have one quick GT....Maybe you should start hunting for SRT-4's so you can post it on here...lol
Well it just seemed that he was really trying. I just dont understand how hard it isto get on the gas and shift. I really thought something was wrong with that whole situation, but it happened twice. So that just got me to thinking.

This is by far the stupidest thing I've heard you say yet. Almost as bad as the 300ZX guy saying no Mustang will ever beat a 300ZX.
Prove me wrong...There are people with blowers, cam's, gears and head work done to there stangs and there only running very low 13's at best and believe me that time isn't good enough to beat a cobra convertible, yet alone a cobra coupe. 03/04 Cobra coupes are capable of running mid 12's with only a tire pressure adjustment..The 2 valve engine will rob you of more power than you can create with boltons.......

Check out NMRA Factory Stock class. These guys are running these times with stock parts. A couple are 5.0 and maybe a 4V, I'm not sure which ones. But it can and HAS been done.
I have seen Roushes come off the line and totally smoke Cobra's. They're not unbeatable. Look at MD... he is running like 13.1's and sh!t. Now imagine putting a blower on a car that runs 13.1's N/A! You would definetly be in the 11's somewhere.
He said it couldn't be done without a power adder. So adding a blower isn't what he was talking about. I believe that if MD has those heads ported, he'd be going a lot faster than he is.
