Default wow that was close

I've been talking with a friend who has a 99 vette and we decided one night we were going to trade cars for a while and drive around. Well last night we finally did. About 5 minutes into driving his vette we see a nissan maxima with fart can, lights under the car, chrome wheels, etc. Well my friend in my car motions for me to go around him and have some fun with him. I pull next to him and he revs at me. I can't believe he thinks he has a shot at a vette, so I rev back at him. About this time the light ahead turns red, we stop. The whole time the light is red the guy won't even look over at me so I figure it's a no-go. Well the light turns green and I wait a second, sure enough the guy tries to race me. I punch it through first and by the time I'm through first I have about 4 cars on him. When I look back I see my worst fear. in the lane I was in there is a cop

I cut over in front of the rice (he's still accelerating trying to race) and see I'm at 55 (45 mph zone). I slow to 45 and get onto the onramp at the next exit. The ricer, the cop, and my friend in my car all fall in line and we get onto the highway. There is another exit about a quarter mile ahead so I get into the right lane. The cop flies up behind me and sticks on my ass. I get off on the next exit and he stays with me. I figure i'm screwed and I'm already thinking of good excuses. Well, we get off the exit and I pull into a gas station. The cop goes right past me and parks across the street. I talk to my friend in the parking lot for a minute and I guess the cop gave up because he left. I was shaking for a good 30 minutes afterwards.

So yes, I'm an idiot for wasting the gas on a maxima and yes I'm an idiot for having a go in my friend's vette. We had a good laugh though and how often can you race a guy with a cop right behind you can get away with it

I'd rather be lucky than good any day! LOL
Next time check out your rear view mirrors BEFORE you decide to take chances on the street racing and maybe you won't have to change your underwear so often.

ohnoes! not the dreaded "floating" maxima. it's always fun to realize something was stupid AFTER you do it. i'm sure next time you will just laugh at the silly child and look away. look away man.

Ya gotta realize some cars arent worth the time of day when...wait scratch that...a LOT of cars arent worthy of even thinking about racing a vette lol.
