Tony Montana87...Hi im Kyle, Im only 17 and like you i wanted a fast car. But for my first car, my parents got me a 1995 grand am gt. Slow as hell. But when i turned 17 and had a job, my parents let me get a '00 GT. I about shat my pants when i first drove this thing. The guy i bought it from had done some modifications to it and said that its pushing near 300hp. I dont think its quite that high, but possibly close. I know that if i had this car when i first started driving, that i would have killed myslelf. i now know to respect it, and im learning how to control it. Be smart, have fun, play it safe.

yeah...word. for one thing...i still dont see how a truck driver can afford a cobra for himself, let alone his son. also, i think it's not too bright to buy one of those for your damn kid when he's 16. too much for you to handle, i guarantee it. ive driven two standards before one was a saturn, one was an 02 gt. big ass difference. had to clean my shorts out. i mean dude...i know every kid wants the fastest thing out there...but a cobra is a tool, not a toy. it is something you must learn proper usage of before you jump right into one. even a mach one is too much. gt is the most any parent who wants to keep their kid alive would put them in.

260 hp is far more than you understand.. you want to be fast, well 200 hp is fast for a young man.. i am 26 now. with mods i am somewhere between 260-300 never been dynoed..the car is fast from the factory fast enough only mods to avoid are huge spoilers, heavy a$$ 20 s or spokes.(don't desecrate) hood lights, etc.. don't rice a meat eater... you will be more than happy with a gt... i promise.. i was thrilled when i had 225 hp... smiles across the board... if you are going to run her, i suggest you go out to the track and listen to what others have to say and then practice. driving a fast car and pushing her is a lot more than what you have seen in the movies... doesnt take much to lose it and i hope you never have to deal with that

Ya thanks you guys, u guys make alot of sense 1 of my friends died Febuary 12th he had a 03 Cobra, and you guys r right 390 Hp for a young man like me is too much he had his car only 2 weeks, the day he got his license he got his car 2 weeks later, he lost control at 135 MPH he wuz the only 1 to die in the car. He flew more then 100 ft, landed in a flood control ditch on the drivers side and died instantly. Im pretty sure a GT maybe a convertible gt will make me happy. So do you guys know the specs on it? Ive been looking for 0-60 and 60-0 but cant find much info on the regular GT. Ya ill stick around with a Gt till the 06 Cobra comes out then ill try to get that. is that bad goin from 260 hp to about 400?

no because once you learn the car, you will be better able to handle the power.. even before you get your car, go to the track and talk to people.. knowledge is power, and the key to safety.. sorry to hear of your friend, my prayers are with his family..

on a set of 10" best time ever was a 13.78 around 100. nice day and a great track.. traction is the key and i had it.. last time out on street tires i couldn't hook up at all. was in the mid 14's a 14.69 14.56 too hot and track was slick. now i am crawling waiting to have more transmission work.
