MM Solid Motor Mounts
What are the advantages / disadvantages of using MM Solid Motor Mounts?
I had to remove a heat shield from the passenger side motor mount due to rubbing on my headers. I'm wondering what a different motor mount would do for me. |
RE: MM Solid Motor Mounts
If it is a daily driver, I'd go with Polyurethane motor mounts.
Solid motor mounts obviously absorbe and transfer all engine vibrations and torque to the frame, which transmits to your seat... not the most comfortable situation for a daily driver... Advantages: better power transfer to the drivetrain, higher power capabilities (mounts cannot wear due to high torque) Disadvantages: vibrations and torque are transferred to the entire car... Here is a link to the Urethane motor mounts, which may be a better option http://www.stangsuspension.com/store...idproduct=1135 Sincerely, |
RE: MM Solid Motor Mounts
Great info, thanks!
The Prothane motor mounts look to be a little thicker. If that is true I am wondering if that will provide more clearance for my headers. |
RE: MM Solid Motor Mounts
It may provide a slight difference, but not enough to make too much of a difference...
Its more the material than height.... |
