Default 300C hemi 5.7L VS. 4.0L 06' Mustang 5sp manual Bolt On mods only

300C hemi 5.7L VS. 4.0L 06' Mustang 5 speed manual Bolt On mods only

I beat one by a car length. Havent taken my stang to the strip. Anyone with simular mods taken thiers to a track? Im intersted because these 300c's with Hemi's are supposed to be 14' second cars stock. I even had it detuned for performance 87 octane that day. This is my first post on these fourms. Im very happy with my s197 definately a nice alternitive to driving my Corolla GTS's Im just a RWD enthusist.

Soo far I have done...
Granatelli 70mm Throttle body
K&N CAI
Diablo Preaditor Performace tune 87 octane
Rear tires Sumitomo HTR-Z 285/40/18
Front tires Sumitomo HTR-Z 265/50/17
Torue Thrust Look alike rims deep dish for rear.
And the biggest performance mod money can buy...Syncro Tail lights. Thats 15 hp right there.

Difficult kill to believe without seeing it myself, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Nice kill. Welcome to the forums!

And it's S197.

Thanks for the welcome...ive also beat a evo8 HONESTLY, the guy didnt know how to launch it. I kept distance on him though from a dead stop...I know thats going to be a tough one to belive, I have witness's that were in the car though. I did loose to him on the freeway by about a car. It was a brand new car granted he didnt know how to launch it. BUT I welcomed that kill with open arms after he beat me on the freeway and put on his flashers. What you running with yours SPARTAN VI?

Anything can happen with street racing, but you beat the driver, not the car. Especially considering your oly two power mods doing anything are the intake/tune, throttle body is dyno proven to do nothing on our cars. The v8 Hemi 300c/ Charger/ Magnum platform is sadly more GT competition, it should kill us equal drivers.

Its not all about power...its about balance. And how you get that power to the ground remember 10' tires have alot to factor in. Driver yes...ive been racing since I was 16 in SCCA solo. Knowing your car is a definate factor. I think tein suspension or a LSD change will be my next mod.

jericho73 the 300c comes with two v8's

5.7-liter HEMI® V8 engine with Multiple-Displacement System (MDS), 340 horsepower at 5,000 rpm, and 390 lb-ft of torque, standard on 300C—the most horsepower and torque in its class.â€* MDS allows the engine to operate on four cylinders when power demands are minimal, increasing fuel efficiency by up to 20 percent. This provides the power of a V8 with the economy of a large V6. (EPA estimated mpg: 17 city/ 25 highway)

6.1-liter SRT HEMI® V8 engine with 425 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque

If I was up aginst the 6.1 I KNOW id be toast. Sounds like a fun car...to bad its an automatic only HAHAHA!

I still have my helix power tower around, Im thinking of putting it back on and giving it another shot, it did improve low end pulling from a dig, but not much in top end, might as well, I paid for it, even if its only 2 hp.... its 2 more for me!!! How about that larger throttle body? I know the dyno is said to show no gains, but did you feel any difference? in throttle response or in the sound of the engine running? One thing I love about the helix spacer is the awesome sound it produces in the exhaust, a deep growl, is this improved even further with a bigger TB? lol
THANKS

I know ive got a big improvement from the TB because I can pull away from stock v6's almost like they are nothing, Realy it does improve the throttle responce. I got that before I got the Diablo programer. Yeah it might not be worth the money I payed for it but any performance modification that I could do to the intake side of the engine I wanted to do first...next is exhaust side or suspension. Im very happy with the performance of this car. Id realy like to dyno and see numbers and or just take it to the strip a few times and see what it does. I do know its quick and has way more potential. My inital goal was to get every bolt on except Nitros, Turbo, Supercharger. But id rather turn it into an auto-x'er and get suspension for it.

I know the reguler 300c and srt-8 come with two different v8's, but the one you races can still dial in low 14's consistently. I'd guess you are maybe mid 14's...so if you beat it, you beat the driver cause car vs car they have us easily. Same thing with the Evo, that's a mid-low 13 sec car stock, it rerally should have absolutly murdered you, sounds like the guy couldn't drive stick at all. Buty good kills regardless, just don't think our cars will beat every 300c/ Charger R/T or Evo, or even close to it.
