I was wondering if anybody had a sound clip for these? I am thinking about buying these here soon and was wondering what they sounded like. Also, would it be better to go with a H pipe or a X pipe?

haha i think at one time or another everyone who wants to go duals has had this pass through their mind
i really dont think anyone has done it though
i would say that you should try it and if it sounds like crap then just sell the loudmouths on ebay
i would love to hear a sould clip of this to see if its any good

I just found out that Glassback (spelling) style exhausts are illegel in Hawaii. But they've already shipped. I've got to find a place that will install them and still be able to pass saftey inspections! Looks like i'll be going with the MRT setup if not.

Edit: found a place that will install them. The law here is you can't have an aftermarket exhaust that is louder than you stock.

That's the whole point of getting an aftermarket exhaust!

Neither car I lol
Do you have a dual set up already and it will just be an axle back swap?
Or do you need to have the extra pipe installed still?

Keep us updated!

I've only got the single right now. I've got to get the extra piping made. I'm hoping it's only around 200 for install and work to be done.

That's the benifit of having Ohio tags on my car while in Hawaii. It also helps that I'm military and haven't got a ticket for speeding in awhile. But then again, I haven't been pulled over in the stang yet.

I know, I know you want a sound clip from me. I tried when I went to lunch today, but the battery on my camera was dead. I'll charge it tonight and get a clip tomorrow.

But I let a friend drive today so that I could hear it. This is the first time that I've heard it from outside of my car. And I have to say, they sound great. A little raspy at times, but that's just from them being broke in. I won't let you guys down!

They sound really really really good. I think they may be a little louder than what I am wanting but that is the closest I have heard a V6 sound to a GT! lol... why couldnt they be that deep and just a little quieter :(. Normally I wouldnt be a such a wimp about that sorta thing, but with a vert something that loud could be a problem. You will have to take another vid with it outside of the garage and mabye a drive by too. Its always hard for me to tell exactly how they sound when they are in the garage. Who knows maybe they wont seem as loud to me. If thats the case then I might have a set of dual american thunders for sale on ebay soon :D. Great job though. They really do sound fantastic!

umm no offence or anything, but i dont think SLP's need a break in since technically they are muffler-less.. mufflers need to break in, because the metal shrinks and expands in certain areas which distorts the sound.. but i doubt youll notice anything different after the milage gets put on them

Um, Yeah, That's what I get for trying to write this at 2 in the morning. I hope the sound doesn't change. I like it right where it's at.

I wanted to be different, I went with a Y pipe. After the cat, it splits into two pipes. I know it would sound better with the x pipe or a H pipe. But I couldn't afford it at the time and really wanted these on. They're loud right now. I'll keep it like this for awhile and see if I get pulled over first before I decide to switch to a H pipe.
