Default 13 inch brakes

I have 13 inch rotors that squeal when you first hit the brake, the dealer says that it is normal for the bigger rotor to be noisy, is the correct or should I tell then they are wrong and fix the problem.
Thanks
Tim

My 2002 S281 didnt come with the 13inch option so i had them put on at the beginning of the year. They didnt squeal for the longest time, but now they have started squealing when i brake only from a slow speed. Like pulling up to my house from about 15-20 mph and then slowing down they squeal. I have heard its normal for big brakes with soft racing pads and i know they arent bad because i hardly have any miles on them.

This noise can stem from an improper break in of the brakes. When the car is new, Saleens reccomends that you do several hard, controlled stops from around 25-30 mph. If they are not broken in this way, you can get some squeeling from them.

If I change the pads and then do the controlled stops will that work or is just something that I will have to live with untill the rotors are replaced?

Actually the squeal will go away as they wear down. If you aren't patient enough to wait on that then yes replace the pads but "Bed them in" correctly. As stated earlier, you should drive up to 50mph and brake hard until you are "almost" stopped but then continue driving again up to 50mph and repeat this process about 8 times. Race pads need to be done the same way but at a higher rate of speed, closer to 80mph to almost a dead stop. I have Porterfield R4S pads with my 4 piston Brembos. No brake squeal and I've road raced them without any issues.
