Hey Guys, the names Joe, I'm 17 and the proud new owner of a '66 Coupe- My First Car!- Having said that, I was wondering if I could snag some advice from current Mustang owners.

The car needs paint, its a faded yellow right now ( which I dont care for ) and I was looking for paint ideas. I'm really leaning towards the paint job of the Shelby GT in "Gone in 60 Seconds" - A Sparkling Silver with Flat black racing stripes

- Would this look good on a Coupe rather than a fastback? To compliment that, I would ho w/ Black Leather Interior.

Thats my vison for now but I'd love to see Pics. and Ideas for paint ;)

As for the engine, its a 3-Speed 289 with 10,000 miles on it. Runs great. My Question: What can I do ( w/ limited money lol ) to make the car sound louder in general?

Thanks guys, - Joe

Thanks Guys :) Love the color Stang66. How much does a paint job like that usually go for?

Hmm....so, is the Gone in 60 Seconds paint overpopulated then? I really like the paint job but I dont want it too look like everyone elses Stang.

Any kind in particular?

All my car had when I bought it was a running engine and the paint job. I only bought the car for $3800. As for exhaust, tri-y headers with 2.5" Flowmaster American Thunder system with deltaflow 40 series --> oh yea!

yeah silver and black is very nice but its dual and very common! get something that stands out! i think blue is the best on a mustang. if money is a great factor cut off the pipe right after the muffler and if you have money get a flowmaster dual kit. most people dont like flowmaster for some reason. i love it its not a very loud idel but when you give it gas...its loud! hedders are also good for sound but cost some $... good luck. Im 17 also and you will have some fun! the best part is doing the work yourself you get alot of satisfaction knowing you did it!

I was thinking about doing the silver w/black stripes when I first got my car too. It took me awhile to find just the right color for my car and you can bet there's no other like it in my town.  Like alot of other members I'm running dual Flowmaster 40's on my car with 2.5" piping, it sounds phenomonal, I'd recommend that you get Flowmasters.

I'm also 17 and like Volcom66 said, you'll have alot of fun and get alot of satisfaction from doing it yourself. Welcome to the forums and good luck!
