Tell your buddy to quit being a pansy and convert it to a 5-speed. (Or 6 if he's got real stones)
The 4EAT can take gobs of power, but the STi 5 and 6 speeds can too. Why not gain back some of that lost power.

i like some rice cars....not the average honda or civic or accords you see 3 out of 5 cars when your driving to your local convenient store...but i think 300z's (the tt) are soooo nice, obv skylines, for some reason i like the ol integra type r's....but other than that i like american cars....thats why i have one. The sound, the look the POWER....i would like to say that I LOVE MY CAR. haa
i have a buddy with one and he says the same stuff about how he can be a gt so i raced him in my moms 2000 four door hona accod it has a vtec 3.0 v6 i mean it is quick for a family ride but n e ways i raced him from a dead stop you know awd cars are supposed to be quick off the line but i pulled him to 90 then he passed me and had me by about two cars at 140 yes he did beat me but not by much and i know my 98 gt would spank my moms car. but unfortunatly it got totaled by some old lady before i raced him now i have a 97 cobra and he wont race me he is a pu$$y too.

stop digging old threads up... this is yet another one from 2003 for Christs sake and nobody cares if you raced some svx a long time ago and now have a 97 cobra because it gets really annoying trying to read run on sentences like crazy please just stop digging through the forums for old threads and go to bed or something.

the SVX weighs 3900 lbs and has 190 awhp. that is not good power:weight ratio. but someone makes a supercharger for them and with that alone they go up to 260 awhp. my brother got one and he has done nothing except change the oil and other stuff and it runs mid 14s
hay im new here,, sow you all dogging the svx hard,, boy. befor i say anything elce i have a 85 natch back mustand,but i also have a svx so if i may let me clarify the svx,, it was not ment to trip lights at the strip,it is a car for the long hall. yes yoy will beat me off the line all the wsy threw the 1/4 mile but think wat hapens after that..
my friend got a subaru SVX japanese version 1990 or 91 idk, he was talkin s**t how it would smoke me blah blah, hes like ya the person who designed the Mclaren F1 made the design all this s**t, he started dissing mustang and all, this really pissed me off, so finally we go and race, da light hits green and i absolutely smoke the s**t outta him, after the race the fag keeps makin excuses sayin he didnt didnt floor it s**t like that. i smoked him by 3 car lengths, stupid igonerent f**ks piss me off like that. No one messes with da stang
The SVX was designed Italdesign, not Gordon Murray. I always liked the SVX, I've seen one before with a STI motor and trans. The automatic gearboxes had a problem in the early years of production, there was a filter that would clog and block the flow of trans fluid. The only thing subaru did to fix the problem was to remove the filter (not the actual trans filter, it was a smaller particulate filter).
It didn't weight 3900lbs, it weighted a little under 3600lbs. It would have been alot better/faster if it came with a manual gearbox.

The SVX wasn't really great at anything other than looking pretty cool. It would make a pretty good project car for a powertrain swap though.

This dude brought it back to life and we kept it going. After you lose we turn around go back to the tree and I do it again and again and again until you realize I am not going to do the cannonball run across America with you to watch your riced SVX drive fast forever and ever.
