... adding GT side skirts ... pop the original skirts off ... swap the clips and snap the GT skirts on .. it even gives the appearance of instantly lowering you car about 3 inches ...

Your car looks great!

I like the look of the stock black, tying the other black parts on the car together, but I could go this way too and be really happy.

Looks like the stock black plastic side-skirts as far as I can tell.

Appears to be missing a roof though, maybe get the side skirts swapped out while you get that taken car of...

Kidding, seriously though...

The only difference in side skirts is that the GT skirts are painted to match the cars color other than that they are the same parts.

I don’t know what you paid for them but my body shop quoted me $85.00 to paint my black skirts red to match the rest of the car.

Where did you get the Targa top done? Looks killer!

I was able to reuse all of the white side clips that go under the door. Some of the white clips came off with the skirt .. some did not so I grabbed them with pliers and pulled them off. They are very flexilble nylon and came off without cracking or breaking.

The clips on the front fenderwell are removeable and easily reusable. There is a very large clip in the front of the skirt .. easily reusable.

The bottom clips are a real pain to remove and a snapped 3 or 4 off during removal. One I snapped off very short and it is not reusable. All of the other bottom retainers I reused and although they were looking pretty mangled they still seem to hold fine. I'll probably by a bag of the bottom retainers next time I go to the auto parts store and will replace any that I can pull out by hand. I have driven the car since putting the skirts on and they are solid. The only way I could get the bottom retainers out was grab with a vice grip and wiggle back and forth while pulling down. I'm pretty sure they are NOT meant to be reused.

Bennihill .... all V6 cars come with the flat black skirts ... GT's come with them painted body color. The shape of the skirts are identical.

Not sure if it matters to you ... but the V6 skirts are textured ... the GT skirts are smooth. If you paint them you will see the grain in the paint unless the body shop plans on sanding them smooth ...

My skirts were $69 shipped ... I bought some other stuff from Diversified and when I asked about the skirts he said I could have them for $29 ... $40 shipping because they come in an oversize box ..

Hey dmhines........to be perfectly honest with you, i think the stock side skirts that you had on there looked a lot better... that black tied into the yellow looked really really good...

i actually noticed that in one of ur posts yesterday before u put up this new thread with ur new side skirts..... but either way looks fine.

dmhines did you ever think of getting the black gt side skirts
they are that painted black and they would accent your black stripes quite well
and they would break up all that yellow that is on the side of the car

sorry, not meaning to hijack the thread....

i did the targa top myself joe, and caught a lot of crap for it from either negative or conservative people. all i did was cut the top off with a circular saw, and filled it in w/ bondo and rubber molding. i have built the frame for the removable top w/ twist locks to hold down the top. i would post pics of the frame but i already dropped it off at a place in my town to get rhino lined so it never rusts. i used 1/4 thick by 1 1/2 inch wide flat steel beams to fabricate the top. after it gets rhino lined, i have to find a good place that does custom leather work so i can have a top stitched for it. other than that it wasn't too hard. just took a tedious amount of time to do it.

plus before you chop the top if you or anyone else does, remember to reinforce it first. i chose to go with 1inch by 1 inch solid steel beams and weld them the frame for support. i would hate to see what would happen to a car if you didn't reinforce it...

EDIT: forgot to say i agree with fitbikeco. if i want to paint mine black it wouldn't be too hard. just sand them smooth myself and paint them black then wetsand.
