I have a 2003 5spd GT with exhaust and intake mods. So far i've won every race except against a modded LS1 Z28. My friend is going to be getting a 2004 Wrx Sti, and he wants to take me on. He's a fresh driver, and so far i've had a year of driving experience and training from an older Mustang owner who taught me how to break the 13 second barrier in my car. Who has the better chance of winning - Me in my 03 GT or him in his Sti?
but, he said his friend is a "fresh driver"......im guessing hes new at racing and all the good stuff. so, if redline's better, he SHOULD be able to take him. other than, i agree w/ Ob. careful w/ the awd/turbo setup. they can be VERY deadly and inconspicuous about it.

Well it only took me a day to figure out how to drive my ride, if even that long. I would say get some DR's and try your best. Stock tires... you wont stand a chance.
Even with a botched launch a 13.4 second car can make up the time difference in a 14-14.5 second car between 2nd and 3rd. It won't take him too long to learn how to launch anyway.

we did a roll at 35 mph i was in 2nd...i hit it and jumped him,, a few seconds into 4th he was next to me and creeping,,,,
I was SHOCKED i can drive well.

Yeah the STI is deadly. If you've ever seen one take off, you'd know that they are vicious! They are unreal fast!!!! But you gotta remember that is a 32-34 thousand dollar car. I mean come on a 03 vs. a brand new $34,000 car????
I mean good luck but doesnt look good!

this is all depending on if the guy can get used to the sti. i stalled my 'ru the first time i let the clutch up. from what it sounds like, the guy is a brand new driver in a stupid fast car. (i'll be waiting at the junkyard) but if he's smart and puts a turbo back exhaust on...ouch.
