I'm considering getting a set of 3:73 gears for my 06 stang, and I have a few questions. From what I've read, it sounds like FRPP gears are pretty good, and not too expensive, but what else do I have to buy with the gears? Is there one better brand of T-Lok than another? What kind of "seat of the pants" gains can I expect from doing this mod?
Anyone know of a good place to buy gears and T-Lok in Florida, specifically in the Sarasota to Tampa area?
I wish I still lived in VA, since I was like 2 miles down the road from Excessive Motorsports, and I've only heard good things about them. I don't know of any shops in my area, so is this something my dealer could install without ripping me off for tons of cash?
Sorry for all the newbie questions, I've never messed with gears before on a car...
auburn makes a clutch style differential just like the tlok, but suppose to be stronger
then you an get a truetrac which is a completely different style (uses helical gears) which is extremyl strong.

t-lok has been best mod so far for me, huge diference i think.
the t-lok is not a preformance part, it was a factory replacement part for the ranger/bronco 2/ exploder, a preformance LSD would be an auburn or a detroit, which is what i would recomend cause they have no clutches to wera out

So what would you all recommend, 3:73 or 4:10? I have an auto, and from what I've read if you go with 3:73 you don't rev as high when cruising on the highway, but that the risk for gear whine is higher...

yes thats true, and a auto cant launch like a 5 speed so usually benifits from better gears, and you should still be under 3000 rpms at 80 with a 27" tall tire
