What's the difference between turning on Nitrous and turning up boost? The beauty of Nitrous in my opinion is that you are not constantly forcing oxygen into the engine. When you want to, flip the switch. When you don't want to, run your engine N/A. If you pull up next to me and try me, I'm flippin the switch.

100 shot should be fine as is, if it's wet. I wouldn't do a dry 100 shot.

Here is the beauty of Nitrous: I'm in my S2k (23K dollars) and a mid 90's cobra pulls up next to me and revs his engine, I look at him and he gives me a dirty loook. I remote open my bottle ( 150 dollars), hit the activation switch(40 dollars). Light changes and we go for it. I'm spraying(total investment 900 dollars) and I proceed to put ~7 car lengths on him. My wife asking me "Is that Cobra really that slow" (Priceless).

I said it felt on edge because the car did backfire once out of the 10 passes I made that night. It went through the mufflers and out the tailpipes and made some really cool, yet possibly damaging fireballs. That is the reasoning with me not reccomending doing it the way I did. I would highly reccomend a respected tuner's advice and a dyno tune for it to optimize the performance.

Brenspeed is going to do the nitrous Zex instsall for me and also a dyno tune, I don't want to take any chances, it's about a four hour drive for me, it's worth having someone do it that knows what they are doing.
As for the people who thinks its cheating or ricer style I don't understand the logic, its just another way to add power. I wish I had 6 grand for a supercharger but I don't. I have never had a car that ran in the 12's I think it would be cool to kick some zo6's as$. even though I have nitrous I can't wait to see the look on the face of a vette owner when he gets beat by a Mustang. To me there's no real difference then any other Mod. turbo, s/c ,just alot cheaper. If the tune or install is not done right you'll blow up with the turbo or the When I'm at the track and see a car run you know right away who is stock or who is running a s/c or nitrous ect.
I'm not going to hide it if anyone ask why I ran the way I did I'll tell them. If they want there car to run like hell add it or something else. The last time I raced there were four other 05 GT'S there , all stock, I beat everyone of them quite easy with my listed mod's minus my gear. They all came over thoughout the day and asked what I had done, I told them and said I learned about the Mod's on the Mustang forums. I didn't leave the hood closed and act like I was the best driver or just had a faster stock car.

I would spray, but I don't want to run the risk of blowing my engine to pieces.

N20 is cheating hehe. A JATO strapped to your car is cheating. Ever seen outlaw class drag racing? Blowers + Nitrous = wow

Well all I can say is that you will love the feal of the Juice. I had it installed on my Hemi ram and wow is all I can say. I had a 5400 pound truck running a 14.2 with a 150 shot. It might sound slow but I was running a 2.2 to 2.4 60ft, no traction. When you hear the hiss and your head slams the head rest you know that you are having fun. You will have a grin that doesnt want to leave your face. As for me though I am not installing it on my new stang. I am going with FI just because of cost. The nitrous is nice if you only spray at the track but I was an addict on my truck. I gave the kit to a friend of mine, for his GT. It isnt too much cheaper once you really start using it. My whole kit was well over 1500 dollars and I used 2 to 3 bottles a week. So if you become hooked like me you will be spending alot of money.

Smoke----2 or 3 bottles a week!? Good God, how much spraying does that take? Like every day, twice a day 20 secs each? I gotta hear this answer dude.

Do you still have the Hemi? Were there any after effects from the spray?

I'm not going to the track, no desire to. Will just be for here and there when I feel the need....

You gave your friend the kit free? or for a cheap price? After spending that loot on it I hope and pray you did not just give it to him. Well unless you guys have been friends for life or he saved your life in the dessert or something...lol

flewbyu -- Yes I still have the Hemi it is doing just fine, I only used the Juice for a few months. It had very little bad effects on the engine, however the transmission didnt agree with it too much. I destroyed the stock transmission with no problem whatsoever. If you are careful with nitrous you will have no problems whatsoever. I mean with your engine, now the rest of the driveline is another question. I ran my truck with all the safety precautions, using a zex 82023 wet kit, I had the safety blow down tube, pressure controlled bottle heater, purge, colder plugs, and 87 octane tune. I also ran it at levels that were already tried by someone else, and I made sure it was running a little rich not lean. Nitrous is not dangerous on any vehicle it is only dangerous if you make it that way. If you do not push the envelope you will be totally fine.

i love how this thread went from a colder plug question to cheating...

but i want my opinion heard just like you guys..

remrats- ever driven a car with nitrous on it? it has been around way longer then honda tuners... and i love the bottle.

my old roommates 91 foxbody 1/8mile car ran a 300hp shot off the line on 10inch wide wrinklewall's. its nasty power and deadly consistent. with 2spd powerglide it runs 5.59 in the eigth. shuts down and rolls thru the 1/4 at 9.90 at 115.

id be fine spraying a 125hp shot to my stang when i race so i dont have to use 4mpg everytime i drive to the track because the supercharger or turbo i would use to get that 125hp out of doesnt turn off like my bottle does...

Saddly, this is why we lack the technical information here. Someone asked a nitrous question, and he got flamed for it. By a bunch of people who have never used it and don't know anything about it. So if those of you that don't have the answers, but just want to throw your $.02 around would keep it to yourself. More people wouldn't be afraid to post here. Give that some thought next time you need some tech help, and the only ones left to help you are the guys posting about subwoofers and how big of wheel they can stick on an SN95 V6.

flewbyu-- Hey sorry forgot to answer that I was spraying 3 or 4 times a day. It really depends on how long you have your foot to the floor. I was addicted so it was way more often than I should have. I never really checked how many times I used it for a bottle always fluctuated depending on how I used it. I have got 4 to 6 passes down the track on one bottle. Remeber though that I was spraying a 150 shot. So you should be able to get more with a smaller shot. Just keep an eye on your bottle pressure and dont let it drop to low.

Thanks smoke. I did not plan on going quite as big as that. I was thinking about 75 to 100 shot. I really did not want to kill 3 bottles a week though. I would be happy with a bottle every two weeks I guess. If its set up at wot then I would spray quite a bit but not for very long. Right now for example I guess I am at wot a few times a week but only for a few seconds just to blow by someone. Normal driving I dont gun it all the time.

I was thinking about the colder plugs as a safty thing but I was told that since my car will not be a track car I did not need them with a 75 shot. Brent said I would be fine. I was/am a little worried that if I got the colder plugs than I would suffer under normal driving. Does that thought hold water? I know these are just opinions here but I'm curious.

Twister086---Does your old roommate still have the car? I always ask that to see if there were/are any long term problems with the juice. Most of the people i have spoken with have had little to none but a few have had a hard time.

ALL POSTERS---The reason I am asking so many questions about these things and not just the plug questions as the orriginal guy is because I am scheduled to get the install in 9 or 10 days. The only reason I will back out is if i just think it will cause to many problems on my 06. Should I back out I will use those funds to get my LT headers and gears instead. Thanks for your help and sorry to all if I have strayed off the subject. I just thought since this was a n20 thread it would better to ask here than to post a whole new thread. My bad.

Well if you are only doing a 75 shot you should be fine with the stock plugs and yes your idea holds water you will loose a little power with the colder plugs.

flewbyu,
yea he still races it. he never runs a full schedule but at least once a month. i want to say its on its fourth or fifth season with no rebuilds. he got a good deal on it. that car has a bag and a half of money (50k) invested and he traded the previous owner his 1998 cobra for it in 2002. that car in 2002 was worth around 13 i think. his fox used to be a 225 shot but we went to MIR and kept bumping it up until we ran out of jet and selenoid. big shots are limited by 300hp i believe. that car doesnt pull the wheels up. it just hooks and goes. p.s. still an 8.8 rear too..
