Default no2 question

I'm thinking about adding no2 sytem either a 75 or 100 shot. Will the stock plugs hold up under a 100 shot or will I have to get a colder plug. What tune are you using, I heard if you use the 87 stock tune with 93 oct. fuel you will be okay, with the 75 shot. Any info would be appreicated on the subject.

From what I hear it will be fine up to 100 with stock plugs. I'm no expert mind you. By the way, its NOT cheating, Its a power adder. End of story. Unless you pull up tp race a guy and say your stock your not cheating. In a race, ANY race; its who crosses the line first. Not who crosses stock, blown, manual, auto but who crosses first. Have you ever seen them say at the track "oh no you guys cant run because you got spray"? Nope. Because its not cheating.

We line up station wagon to station wagon,
car to car, be it; S10 to VW,Cobra to Supra
Mustang to Camaro, what ever to what ever.

Again, unless you stole it, lie about having it or say you wont use it and do its not cheating. No more than a cai. Otherwise its stock 4 stock, no exceptions and anything other than stock must be cheating too.
And if your not racing and just want more power than you really, really should not worry about it at all.
I say go 4 it if u want it bro.

just my thoughts on it, nothing personal.

it is cheating to some people, because it is not a constant power adder and just with a push of a button is like superman pushing ur car I personally think putting n02 on a car is like taking steriods. I don't see it as the car winning the race but as the n02 winning the race.IMO. As stated above me if you do tell the person you have it and they agree it is ok that you use it then it is not cheating, but there are too many people who say they dont have it, or say they will take it off, but run with it anyways. I used to be totally agains n02 and believed it was cheating no matter what, but like you said, as long as it is agree'd on it is not necissarily cheating, just not for me

Remrats1234----Let me say this. Mustang Forums is here to share in opinons and thought, to help others find the info they want or need; also to brag and show off your car or a car you have seen. When someone has an opinion that differs from you and states that opinon with well thought out, intelligent replies. I see no need to fear those thoughts and or opinons because they are not yours. I've seen people like that all my life and 75% of the time they are scared of the person or thought that they are bashing in that fly off the handle rant. Or just plane ole haten. Ya know, pissed at the guy who got a better trans for half the price as you. Taking personal shots at someone who you have never met is not a good idea on so many levels. Most who act like that feel a false sence of safty online but would never, every do that in person standing in front of the guy.

#1 There are crazy people in the world and you never know when someone will flip an enternal switch and make your life miserable.

#2 You never know if you will see that person in the future at a show, contest or what ever. Its a very small world. Ya know, befriend you, remember your name and car, area you live etc.

#3 When someone acts like that they appear imature and juvinile and others see that they are someone not welcoming to deal with or associate.

#4 I cant imagine any body over 18 or 19 would act like that, that would be sad. Your not, over 18 are you?

#5 And most importantly---See #1 ...............Be careful what you say and who you say it to.

DuFFMaNN----I hear you but the difference between this and steroids is that steroids is illigal! AND the people who take it lie about doing it. I appreciate your opinion but I think its a little more to it. Allot of guys who spray proudly annouce they have it. Also if they or I spend $1000 to 2,000 on purchase + install with hard earned money you best believe its gonna get used and announced. You make some good points here. I agree with you that some people "may" feel its cheating but some don't

Wow, this is the kind of senseless behavior that drives away those with a great deal of technical knowledge for the S197s. To say nitrous is cheating is ridiculous, it is adding air to the engine so I guess in Remrats opinion s/c and turbos are cheating also. It's just another option to make more power. Now away from the pointless thread hijack and back to the original question at hand.

HT0s will help prevent detonation, as long as you are running a safe conservative tune then you should be fine on the HT1s. On an 87 octane tune you should be fine as the timing can't be very aggresive as long as you run 93.

You may need to close up the gap some to prevent spark blowout, PMP Parts has the cheapest spark plug gapper that I know of, you just need to send them an email.

I ran a 100hp shot on my stock HT1 plugs last week on a N/A 91 octane tune from Evolution. I made no changes to the tune, but I would not necessarily reccomend this method to anyone else. I feel that my car was kinda on the edge of blowing a head gasket, melting a plug, having a nitrous backfire, or something of the sort. The colder plugs will help when on the bottle, but definatley hurt you when you are N/A. They are too cold for most of the N/A tunes out there. Just some friendly advice....Check with your tuner before you take the plunge, and make sure they can get you a safe tune for it, or go get a dyno tune and be on the safe side.

Nitrous is a cheap way for some of us to go faster. I'm sorry but I cannot afford a supercharger or a turbo for my car yet. So nitrous is the only way for me to make similar power for a lot less money. The beauty of nitrous is I have had the same bottle in a bag (compucar) kit installed on 5 cars so far. I actually bought a zex kit for this new car but I still use the compucar bottle for an extra. Let me know which supercharger or turbo kit is interchangable from a 5.0, to a 4.6, to a lightning and I will start saving for it. It's not cheating it just introduces more air in to the combustion chamber in a different manner, Chemically, not mechanically. Just my .02
