I remember back when I got my 05 stang in May of last year I was usually the only one on the road with one. I got constant headturns and compliments on my car. A year and a half later... they'r eeverywhere. On my way home today I saw a total of 13 new mustang v6s. Thirteen. Wow. What in the world is going on here? Soon everyone and their brother will have a 4.0 stang :) Now GTs... those are still rare sights.

In my area, I see more GT's than V6's. But then again, I see more M3's, S4's and M5's than anything else. Oh and the STI is very popular around here too. Depends on where you live. Long live the stang. The more the better. Just customize yours, put some stripes and a ducktail on it and you will stick out and get your head turns.

Yea I got mine on Aug 30th of 2005 and I noticed the same thing. A lot of other people have them too now and not as much head turns. Its to be expected though as the car gets older. Heck just think when those V6 Camaros come out, everyone is going to be all over there nuts along with the V6 challenger ( If there gunna make one) for the first few years also. We'll be old news!!! Thats why I blew mine out so I at least stand a small chance lol.

Although I do like the compliments and stares towards our rides..
I'm thinking that with more new 'Stangs on the road, hopefully a lesser desire for some idiots to vandalise our cars..

ya, in like 2011 when they actually release the new Camaro, which I guarantee will look almost nothing like the pics out now, they will have to make a v6, as it will be their big money maker. Till then, the v6 mustang is the only affordable american true sports car out there.

yes I actually have a motor trend right here with all the info about the V6 camaro that GM has told them about. What they did was run a simulator of the mustang vs the camaro with all the info that they know about both cars. I just put the info about the camaro down because I am sure we all know the mustang stats or have a good idea of them at least.

2009 V6 Chevrolet Camaro
valvetrain: ohv,2 valves/cyl
displacement: 236.7 CU IN/ 3880CC
power (SAE NET): 240hp @ 5800rpm
torque (SAE NET): 240 lb-ft @2800 rpm
weight to power: 14.2lb/hp
transmission: 5-speed manual (I would think there will be an auto too, but it only talks about the manual)
axle/final-drive ratios: 3.91:1/2.85:1
tires,f;r: 235/55r17
curb weight: 3400lb
simulated acceleration to mph:
0-30 2.8sec
0-40 3.7
0-50 4.9
0-60 6.2
0-70 7.6
0-80 9.5
0-90 11.5
0-100 13.6
quarter mile: 14.5sec @104.4mph
braking 60-0: 125ft
600ft slalom: 68.4mph avg
lateral acceleration: 0.82 G Avg
MT figure eight: 27.0 sec @ 0.69 G Avg

just a side note.... the V6 camaro beat the V6 mustang in every one of these catagories except for braking and lateral acceleration

Nice to have a preview of the stats. However, until the car really exists, we will not know how it performs at the track.

The whole motor trend simulation left a bad taste in my mouth! I'm all for the new camaro beating us stock, cause then ford will up the ante. However, virtual racing....c'mon...give me a break!

If I wanted virtual simulation and/or racing, I would be using my xbox and save thousands on car modificaitons.

Just my 2 cents.

Ok, so the (possible) new V6 Camaro will be slightly "faster" (as far as crank horsepower). Big deal. Most GM product tends to have more hp than Ford, it's a fact look up how the old Gen-3 Camaro stacked up vs. the 94-04 Mustangs.

Also, of course there's a bunch of Mustangs on the road, they look cool. You should see California if you want to see a lot of Mustangs.

oh i am not saying that I am going out and buying a camaro.... I am a mustang man through and trough.... I think i would rather shoot myself in the face than buy a camaro. I was just giving you the stats that I had just to give you an idea of what is being expected out of the new v6 camaro. I just think that since this came out ford better up the power of the mustangs or something cause I dont want the mustangs to be slower than the camaros.

I got my '06 V6 the first week of June, and that week I had a couple follow me into my complex just to tell me that mine was the nicest new Mustang they had seen. And that was with a stock Pony package.

I would have to agree, I am seeing them more and more often. So I changed mine up with some stripes, ponies, dual, etc. If all the girsl in the world looked like Jessica Abba, is this a bad thing? I think not.

at this point it doesn't reallly matter what they post for the Camaro...until it's in production, it's just dreamworks...not to mention by the time it actually goes into production, the Mustang will also be ready for an update.

Here's some current model changes in Engines for Ford
07 Sport Trac 4.6L V8 (first V8 in it's class) 292HP and 300TQ
07 Ford Edge 3.5L V6 250HP and TQ??
07 Ford Fusion 3.5L V6 265HP and TQ??

    Werd!

I'm almost glad I live in a very asian part of California. Everyone drives Hondas, Benz's, BMWs, etc. hardly any stangs in my area. "Almost glad" because these same people are bent on becoming one with my bumpers.

Anyway, it's even more rare to find an 05-07 in my town. There used to be another V6 in my neighborhood, til I guess he moved out or got rid of the car. I'm probably one of ten 05-07 Mustang owners in my city.

Now when I'm out of my town, I see at least three S197s a day, but at least 10 any year stang daily.
