The quicker run with the slower MPH would be from the extra traction.

Vfast, i do have a tri ax shifter. i believe my flywheel chattering problem, along with my worn out clutch, had alot to do with my poor launches, as i had to compensate for the chattering, and couldnt launch as i wanted to, and also i was missing shifts often, and sometimes my shifter would just be a dick and not go into gear. since machining the flywheel and replacing the clutch, i have almost no chatter, and have not had a single shifting problem, as smooth as rob in his 03 cobra. i think that, some drag radials, and maybe some sub frame connectors and control arms, and i will see much better times. i found on BFG's website that they do make a 17" drag radial, but only in 9-11 inch tires sizes. im half an inch short. i've heard of having wheels widened, i have no idea how? anyone heard of this?

Well heck guys, I just dont have any timeslips for my Fords, I havent ever raced them at the track. I figure mid to high 12's from my 351 C powered rides. (the 71 Fastback and the 71 Maverick.) Ya wanted to know, so those are what I know for sure about. I did build a 306 for a friend when I was runnin my shop. It ran a best of 12.3 in street trim. It was a 89 GT convertible. Kinda heavy, but it did okay.

Bc...isn't that tri-axle sumthing?...did you replace the clutch fork?
this is a few places that do it we used to do steel rims for cars.
I used to run a 75 chevy v-8 Monza that I widen a set of stock rims to 7" had 70 series snow tires on it. it was a sleeped had a 406 with a mild cam primered black
even ran single exhaust but made it 2-1/2 in. used to pop iroc and stang by 5 cars

i love that shifter, i drove my buddies 96 GT the other day, he's almost completely stock. it didn't feel like a muscle car at all. whipser quiet, very tame.i can't believe the difference an intake headers, x pipe and flowmasters make in low end torque, overall power actually, and of course, sound.its so wierd driving a car just like mine that's stock. no, i didnt replace the clutch fork. i really need a new flywheel, but its ok as it is now.

Cool a v8 monza? I have a 75 Buick Skyhawk waiting for a 455 back home. AS soon as I get the new bullet built, the buick gets "changed". Should be quite the little sleepy ride, and about 1000 lbs lighter than the ol bird is. mavericks, Skyhawks, have I lost it? Arent they compacts? Hey I need a Pinto, Turbo 4 N2O, yeah thats it. BCisme how wide are your wheels now? If you have 7" you can run the 9" tires, 8" you can go to 11 in a pinch. Why dont ya just get new lighter rims? Heavy cast stock ones arent helpin ya much.

I know a guy in Canada with a mild 455 Pontiac in a Fiero it runs low 12's on radials, not Drag radials, either. It will pull the fronts with full tread 255 65 r 15's. I am workin on getting another 68 Cougar and a 65 Comet Calente' . One of which will get a spare 351C4V I have lying around. Or maybe a 390. I dunno. Kinda wanna build some Fords again. Jus for fun. But yeah a pinto with my 351C, if I can get it to hook and breathe that would be a trip.

The guy I know with the 350TPI Fiero, Kevin...he rides around down with radials on it and lifts the wheels from lights every chance he gets. It's amazing!

13.50's hopefully getting into the 12's soon but i have not decided on witch path to go about doing that. !988 lx 5.0 5spd. bbk cai, comp polymers intake, bbk equal length shorties, bbk h-pipe, flowmasters into dumps, factory 3.55 gears, king cobra clutch, electric fans out of a 99 mystique, march pulleys with the accompaning bracketry. my car came with with the power delete option and no sound deading insulation. and it is also red that is god for a couple tenths.<IMG src=smileys/smiley4.gif border="0">

i have made it into the elevns once before with a different car but now that one is gone. and i am trying to get this one lw as i can without getting into the motor right now. i hanvent even messed with the suspension yet it has bbk springs on it that i would almost give away. i will proubaly tear it down this winter and redo the suspension setup. New k-member, alum driveshaft, dragf springs and who knows maybe coil overs. i will proubaly weld up the body to stiffen in up a little and a few other trick that i have picked up tinkering with these wounderful cars.
