a shift light is an idiot light for someone who doesn't know when to shift. either when racing, or just driving around town. if you don't have good judgement on when to shift, and need a reminder wether racing or commuting... you have no business driving a stick. especially at the track. go buy an auto.

well if your flying down the track so fast you don't have time to read the needle... of course it would be very usefull, especially if you can program it to come on exactly when you want it to. but as an early bolt on mod, not really necassary.

i agree. if your car still has a rev limiter or just not enough power to blow up then its pointless

and if your flying down the track, a missed shift would kill your ET ( i know all about that) so if your going through the gears quickly enough, i'd prob have one positioned so i could see it without taking my eyes off the track.

the seat are a great addition i just sold a set to a guy that is going to put them in a 96 gt.  i think that shift lights are great.  you have it mounted where you can pick it up out of the corner of you eye so when it flashes you just shift!  dont even have to think just instinct, instead of waiting on you tach to reach a certain point and then shift!

LIGHT = SHIFT IT COULD NOT BE ANY SIMPLER!

WELL YEAH BUT THAT TAKES ALL THE FUN OUT OF IT.  MY FRIEND HAS A 9 SEC MAVERICK AND ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS MASH THE GAS AND STEER STRAIGHT. NOT AS MUCH FUN AS BANGING GEARS.

even though i love my 5speed it would be very fun to have a sub 13 sec auto.

wouldnt even need to think just push the gas button and fallow the dotted line

It would be even more fun to have a faster standard, if you can't shift then you should not race.Real cars have three pedals.

Real racecars have two pedals.

They also don't have a transmission (direct drive).

Ok this is the worst, About a month ago i saw a 2001 GT with a V-Tech sticker on the back window and front windshield. I broke down and cried for about 5 mins then seached for a sharp object jab out my eyes then stick into my head to end the pain that had been delt onto me because some stupid ass thinks his Ford has Honda variable valve timing.....
