You're right. Now that I think about it, the people that always post at night do have some stupid **** to talk about. The polls about who the best poster is, and my man NOS...I'm not sure whats wrong with him...But he makes me giggle.
Ok, well here's my opinion on the neon SRT-4. They're fast, light weight, and carry a decent price for such good performance. I haven't street raced in years, so now I just poke around on the road, but I hear they're quick and the numbers don't lie. Ok, now for the dirt on the Neon SRT-4. They're gay. Plain and simple. Ok, you take a run of the mill neon, have a team of engineers fiddle with it, throw some better internals in it, add a turbo and it's fast. But the fact remains, now pay attention because this is key, it's still a neon. What a piece of junk! A friend had a rental neon a few years ago, mind you it was a base model, but it was such a crap box of a car. Think about it. I'd rather have my V8 with moderately bad gas mileage and be able to add gears, charger, cams, and all that other good stuff (you can with imports too of course) but when you have a GT, Z28, TA, or some other domestic modern muscle, you're driving heritage, racing history, and brute detroit muscle, not some piece of junk to compete with the import craze. If I had a dollar for every head that turned from my throaty exhaust, every compliment I've gotten everywhere I go, everytime I had someone ask for a ride in the car, man, I could add even more mods. You won't see people restoring neons and the like 30 years from now.

i agree w/ D. people arent gonna remember Neons 30yrs from now.........theyre gonna remember us.....the v8's, and maybe some of the imports. sure, supras, Z's, NSX's, cars like that. but, other than that. v8's carry the american heritage. pure muscle. and i post late at night...i may be dumb, but, im not always posting stupid stuff. just, half the time. plus, this is the only time i have to do this :( wish i had more time though. if i could, id be on here all day !!!!

the srt-4 was built for one reason. to destroy the import market under $20,000 and they have done it. Grn N Gry 5OH, you forgot the Skyline, we get it in 2006 as the infiniti r35. they have been around longer than the corvette. and the r34s run 13s stock. and their power is rated at the wheels. people will remember them over v8s.

Infinity has a car over 50 years old? Same with Nissan?
Nissan has been around since the 30's, and been in the US since the early 60's. ANd the Skyline was first produced in 1957. No Im not a Nissan expert - I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
Oh by the way - who the hell even remember's Skylines NOW? Heh most people, including myself, didn't know Skylines EVEN EXISTED till I played Gran Tourismo on PS2 - hehe where's that heriatage were all gonna remember again?

I agree that the SRT-4 has taken a small chunk out of the imports. Nissan was around since the mid or early '30's I believe, but they were copies of american cars at the time. V8's will always be king though. American V8's will always be known for straight line hard accelleration. Imports, no matter how fast, will be known as economy cars.
