The whole point is people are pointing out that a 4 cyl can be just as fast as a V8. Yes, with forced induction it can. Big deal. That being said, if it ran a 14.0 N/A, I would be impressed. Were you just looking for an argument or did you have a point?

Last week I test drove an 04 SRT-4, those little cars are very damn fast!! the numbers dont lie!!! they run low 14's and high 13's stock!! just like a 99+GT I personally dont like the way the handle and the way they look but as a Mechanical Engineer I feel proud that we can produce here in the US an ass kicking rice rocket that humilliates all kinds of more costly imports. Howwever I love my GT and I would not trade it in for a neon....

Not sure why people get pissy about the subject. Why not just respect a fast car no-matter what it is? If a 4 banger can keep up or move faster than my car can, I'll toss a thumbs up. Whether it be an AWD Turbo Talon, or a Gutted b16 CRX that somehow weighs barely anything. It may not be in my personal preference, IMO the v8 sounds so horribly badass. Also, it seems much easier to work on a v8 with plenty of space in the engine bay(atleast my car does). Not to mention the HP/Torque one can produce stock, and the great gains from simple bolt ons.

I really don't have a problem with srt-4's. Around here the import/sport compact guys don't really mix with the domestic guys, and I have not had any srt's try to mess me in either one of my cars, infact the only guy who has ever tried anything with the Nova was in a stock mach one, I blew his ass back and he was a dick about it (did the ricer fly by).

why DOES everybody get so uptight about SRT-4's ?? theyre quick cars. theyre turbo, theyre dodge. enuff said. look at the turbo Daytona's, and Shelby Chargers. both of 'em were VERY QUICK. but, either way, i LOVE my V8 and i wouldnt get rid of it for a 4-cyl. have both sittin in the driveway, sure, but the 4-cyl wouldnt be stock.........whether it be turbo'd or n/a, it would be quick. engine transplant, forced induction, however it need be. SRT-4's are quick. but, FAST like a built V8, NO. ill give props to them though.....i think theyre running mid-high 8's in the quarter(NIRA and NHRA Sport Compact classes). but, still, you cant top the power of built american muscle !! ive NEVER seen ANY kind of import motor pushing 7k hp(NHRA top fuel and funny car)
