Dont get me started on "free delivery" either. I negotiated with Galloway Ford in Ft Myers to ship my Saleen up to NJ ($600 value roughly), and the car arrived on a big open ratty looking truck at 10:30 at night 2 weeks late. They offloaded the car and I drove home only to find the next day (in the light) that the rear bumper was all scratched up from another car "riding" it on the trailer. Needless to say $600 later and I had a newly painted bumper and bumpkiss from the trucker who subed it, to a sub, who subed it to an independant. not worth the time and effort over $600 to chase down, especially since I "signed for it".

I would like to have the custom paint in Triology, but with an unknown timeline and setbacks I'm at a loss. If you could give me a completion date without the custom paint, that would be great. Thank you

Hey Billy - just curious (if you can even describe it) what is so special about Trilogy Silver as apposed to just metallic silver??

WIth out the paint it will ship next week, it has been in line for the paint shop which has beem packed the last 2 months with custom paint, we end up with almost 500 hours in a custom paint, and we can only do so many a month. I will send you some photos of it going together. Tungsten and Trilogy are very close so I know you will love it. With cusom paint it will probably be in September. Sorry for the delays, sales got in way more custom paint this year then we expected. One nice thing is that sense you are only a few hours away at Galpin, delivery can be quick

Tungsten seems to have alittle more blue in it, you have to look carefully and really need a trilogy car next to it to tell

I vote wait for the paint. If that's what you want and what you ordered take a few cold showers and wait. Having an explanation of how backed up the paint queue is should help I would think.

edit: Based on SAR's response it seems the base for a trilogy silver paint job is tungsten gray? In my opinion there's a big difference between silver and tungsten, be sure you consider this carefuly so that you are happy.

Thats awesome! I figure I would wait a while and if I really decide to keep the car for the long haul than send it back to Saleen and get the custom paint. SAR could you tell me how much the car weigh's and how many miles were on the odometer when it left? Did the car have the racing quarter windows installed? How long will it take to arrive at the dealership?

Hey BT,

Was told the production number was #73. Would not be surprised if that is now not the prod # though. Its a Black Extreme that I bought through Tedd Britt Ford in Chantilly, Virginia. Any update you can get is much appreciated. Don't understand why Saleen can't communicate better. Its such an easy thing to do and would go along way to maintainng good relations with customers.

thanks.

Got to love all the good news for these "expectant" owners. Now I just want to know who from Saleen had the red car eating at Cosmo's in Las Flores today? And what did you order?

Billy, Thank you very much for the info. The Tungsten shipping next week would be awesome. If I went with Triolgy I'd probably never take it out of the garage, so I'll have the Tungsten and enjoy the hoot out it.
