Default reverse gear grind

i have a 99 3.8 and sometimes when i start her up and put it into reverse, the gear grinds horribly. i make sure the rmps are fine and everything sounds normal but sometimes reverse just grinds and soemtimes it doesnt. none of my other gears grind at all and yes the clutch is fine. why does it do this?

Reverse isn't synchronized. Be sure to push the clutch pedal all the way to the floor, and wait a few seconds before shifting into reverse. ALSO, make sure the tranny fluid is full and clean.
