Default Driveshaft vibration

I've done just enough mods to the drivetrain, that I've created some problems. After installing the 3.73 gears and t-lok I noticed some vibration at higher speeds, from 80+ mph. Then when I replaced the lower control arms/upper control arm & bracket with BMR's replacements using the better urethane bushings I noticed the vibration increased significatly. The service tech at ford told me they had replaced some driveshafts and would just replace mine under warrenty. I started a little research on the internet and found a drivetrain specialist shop that told how to diagnose vibration, everything pointed to the driveshaft. So I took my stang down to Midwest Tire and Wheel here in Kansas City, they pulled the driveshaft, checked it for straightness and re-balanced it. The machinist told me it was out of balance, but not much. My replacing the soft stock rear control arm bushings which were acting as a damper to these vibrations with ureathane bushings is why I was having a vibration problem. More than likley Fords production tolerances for the drive shafts takes in account the softer oem bushings to help dampen any outof balance problems.

Took the stang for test drive, no vibration noticable now all the to 100mph. I couldn't find any place to run faster than that safely, but will try a highspeed run out of town on open hiway this weekend.

Just thought I would share this with you all. The total for labor and balance was $113

Money well spent.

I told the Ford service tech, so instead of just replacing driveshafts for vibration, they might try to send out for rebalance. This would save down time for the car and warrenty repair $ for Ford. I should have asked them to do it first :/
