Seeing if anyone can help here, since no one is in the handling subsection...

Will 235/50/18's fit on a 18x9" wheel? Two of the tires that came with the wheels went flat yesterday after getting screws in them in a spot on the tire that no tire shop will patch. Those tires were 245/40/18, and the diameter wasn't big enough for my tastes. I am looking at a deal on getting some 235/50/18's fairly cheap and I am wondering if they are too narrow to fit on a 9" wide wheel.

I thought I saw a post where someone was running a the exact same tires I'm looking at on the same size wheels, but now I can't find it.

Did you try to patch the holes yourself?

Tire shops don't like to patch holes for 2 reasons, they take on some level of liability if it blows after they patch it, and they make money selling new tires.

I have patched a lot of tires over the years, saving myself and others a lot of money.

A few bucks for a patch kit is a good thing to have around anyway.

no i haven't tried to patch it, i don't know a whole lot about tires, but from what 2 shops have told me, the hole is too close to sidewall for a patch to be effective...

also the price on these new tires seem pretty low, and i would like to fill out my wheelwells a little more
