Hey fellow s197 brothers and sisters, anyone know about JMS? See this.

So? That was the $4500 procharger performance package? It would be nice if they said which package would get you 12.40's on street tires.

Does it matter? 12.4x's WITH a blower? WTF?

Thats kind of where I was going with that. If I spent $4500 and wasn't at 11.40's, I'd be pissed!

On the site, I didn't see a blower as part of the performance package????? I saw a blower as another option though.

GTO must be one of the ugliest things I have seen. I was wondering how we would run against them, but I never see one around to race.

They usually aren't much of a problem stock, the saleguy touted 13.0 but thinks 13.5, I have yet to see one go either stock. Modified of course, but stock, nope... so, it's ugly and not as fast as 400hp would make you think, plus it weighs something around 4,000 without the driver....ugh...

The correct weight without a driver is 3720 and can be lightened up. My race weight w/o me is 3577 with a full nitrous tank and 1/4 tank of fuel. Also, we have stock 05/06 GTOs hitting 12.9X with good drivers in good weather. Heat, humidity, and bad driving skills can kill your E.T.s . . .

Don't bother. No matter how much proof you post, or how many times you've personally done it. These guys won't believe you. They've all see one go 14.0 and in their minds thats the best a GTO can do.

i know what they *should/could* be capable of, but dayum it must be hard to take advantage of those 400 horses cuz 13.6 is the fastest ive ever seen a gto go, and i was about 7-8 car lengths ahead lookin in my mirrors...

...in the hands of mediocre drivers...i hear time and time again how hard they are to launch and to shift fast in, and how suceptible they are to heat soak. get a pro driver behind the wheel on a cool day while not hot-lapping and low 13s should be the norm or at least very achievable.

This arguement is really crazy. The Trail blazer SS with bolt ons can run mid-high 13s, but a GTO with the same engine can't? Question of the day. Is there anyone who has a stock 05-06 GT. (Yout know what? even if you have bolt on and tires.) tha lives in the Philadelphia , or New Jersey area. We can line them up, forget the track. We can find a good spot, bring a camera and i would run them for fun Please Please Please, lets settle this argument for once and for all. Stock for Stock, put your money where your mouth is. All in fun, so don't take it personal. I just want to settle this with two good drivers and i am willing to race. Any takers?

I wish.

I don't have issues launching my car at the strip. 1.81 60ft on 245 street tires . . . The stock tires are crap and must go and I installed a few do-dads in the rear to tighten it up a little to get rid of wheel hop. Shifting is shifting. I can row through the stock shifter with no problems. I was use to rear mounted trannys in Alfa Romeos so anything is a shorter throw then a 1979 Alfa GTV! When I was bone stock my 04 would run 13.5s. Now, on cam it is 12.5s and on spray, well, lets just say it traps 125 . . .

Well, to answer the original question:

'98-'02 LS1 F-Body > 05-06 GT (in every way).

LS1 GTO < 05-06 GT (From a dig. On the higway, LS1 GTO will pull the GT).

LS2 GTO > 05-06 GT (in every way).

For whatever reason, the LS1 F-Body's run 12's all day at E-Town with common low budget mod's, i.e. CAI, exhaust & free mod's.

Don't mess with an LS1, unless you have a power adder.

OOOOoOoOO hes calling you out Sleeper, LS told me the other day that your car is so slow he could most likely whoop on you with a flat tire and 3 unplugged wires, off the bottle too... You gonna take that from him...

BTW, he even said you could pick the wires...

i thought it was with 2 spark plugs disconnect? trust me im quicker than that 3v that almost beat you when you missed 3rd.

im all stock though..just look at my sig! i'm pioneering "3v stock", to compete with "camaro stock". while the camaro stock includes a 100shot, 3v stock is full bolt-ons/4.30s/cams/heads/dyno tune, but is easily explained away as "only an intake and gutted cats". im not quite there tho.

damnit i want to race you lol
