So...normally i wouldnt post something like this, but i felt that this section was really empty so what the hell lol

I just ordered my strut tower brace from blue oval industries' store on ebay, cost a total of $60, which is extremely cheap, i dont know why they are selling it for more expencive on their site. Plus, if it sucks, its just 60 bucks lol. Anyways just thought that I would share that with you guys.

I installed same STB on my stang, had a problem with hood clearance, to check put some talc powder on the top of the STB, then close your hood, then open hood, if there is talc powder on the hood liner, you might have a problem. Then hood liner is not real tight against the bottom of the hood, so the STB may only be just touching the hood liner, and not pressing into the bottom of the hood. I could see where when the hood was closed, the STB was pushing up on the hood itself. I fixed by slightly straightening the bend on each end a few degrees, which lowered the STB about 3/4 inch, leaving about 1/2 inch clearance from top of intake.

Now, you have just tied the top of your strut towers togather, but the bottom of the support/steering assembly is not. I noticed a difference in handling, so after a call to BMR, ( http://www.bmrfabrication.com/2005Mustang.htm ) I ordered the Front A-arm support brace. This was an easy install with hand tools, you will need a deepwell 21mm socket and a flex-head rachet. This tied the lower a-arms togather and with the STB, the steering now is rock solid. Highly reccommended mod.

Good luck and give us some news on your opionion about how this mod improves handling.

I too had an issue with fitment on the piece from Blue Oval. Not only did it press the liner but it caused a bulge in the hood itself. I sent it back for a refund and got the Steeda one instead. It was more $ but a much better fit and to me it looks like it is more stable and has more to it.

The one that you bought chrisc, what does it look like?

Think I'll stick with Ford Racing, Roush, or Steeda here.

Will the ford racing one fit on our cars. Its for the gt isn't it?? What about the other components in the handling kit from them? Do they fit?

it was pretty much just a black bar that connected the two towers. and yeah, be careful, the GT ones wont fit on our cars, but steeda does offer them for the v6's

Anybody have links to Ford Racing one, and Steeda.... ??

Is this for looks only, or does it help with torsional stiffness... I have the vert, so maybe it might be extra help there too???? Altough I must say, the vert is incredibly stiff compared to the older ones I have driven in !

form what everybody has been saying (everybody as in, the 6 or 7 people who have them) they actually work. plus a lot of GTers have the steeda one, i have never seen the ford racing one for the v6.
