Tough question because everyone's experience varies but i've heard nothing but raves about all the tuners customer services.

Bren, Bama, Alternative and Evolution all get great reviews. You'll be hard pressed to find somebody who does not like the tunes they got from one of these guys. Again, no best can be identified. On price, Evolution is lowest, and Fred gives great service. So if you factor price in, you may want to consider Evolution.

Evolution and TI (bundled with Dougs tunes) seem to the best bang for the buck if cost is an issue. I think the TI combos are 525 last time Demolet had a post in here. Not sure how much Evolution is, I think $550, not sure. I personally have used Doug, TI (original tune), Diablo Predator (from mustang tuning) and Excessive when I was NA. Dougs performance tune shaved off 3/10's off my track time on the same day I used it. Justin at VMP tuning is also exception, and he is very good about posting results of various CAI's, bolt ons, FI units, etc. His write up on CAI's with dyno tunes can be found here, very good info IMO: http://www.v6power.net/vb/showthread.php?t=25551 Another good one that is the unsung hero is AZ Dyno Chip, not sure if they do internet tunes, but I was shocked when they got an auto past the 200RWHP marker with a CAI and muffler (if I remember correctly). Stick with any of the above and the ones LX reccomended and you will be fine. Cheers.

Got mine from Brenspeed. My v6 auto feels like a different car - much more responsive! Service was fine - they sent an email requesting details about my car, including the engine code, then shipped the tuner in about a week. It's a breeze to use. You'll love it.

danno - how much of a difference is it? What do you have to do to program the shifting sequence?

Your tuner will come with 3 pre-programmed tunes from the vendor (Brenspeed or whoever you purchase from). The tunes are usually for 87, 89 and 93 octane. They've set all the parameters for you (timing, shift points, etc.) - you just select and load the tune from a menu for the octane you're using. Takes about 5 minutes total. I loaded the 87 tune and I was impressed with the difference. Then I filled up with 93 octane and loaded the 93 octane tune. Now I have to be careful not to light up the tires when I take off from a light! I have not played around with the tuner to see if I can set any parameters myself, and frankly, I don't want to mess with it. I'll leave that to the experts (the vendor).

ORIGINAL: moonstang Correct me if I am wrong, but the TI deal for $525 comes with the stock SCT tunes, not the Bama tunes. There is apparently quite a difference. Yea, I would like to know this. I thought it came shipped with Bama tunes.

If it dosent I wouldn't get it. My TI kicked ass with Dougs tunes, but the standard tunes. I wouldn't do it. I would find out before spending money on it.
