i seriously think a lot of my sixxer friends need to wake up. here is a true story for you. a 98 gt will walk my formula, my formual walked a 03 sixxer from a dig three times in a row. won by more than a car all three times. the formy is STOCK!!!!!! and as old as half of you. people please keep it real . a sixxer can win, i believe the lincoln story, but a gts w/ exhaust puts him at less weight and more power

im just saying, who knows what kinda driver he went against. maybe he could have been a bad driver, but from what torch said, he BARELY beat the guy. but then again we werent there so it could be true, and then again, it could not be true. but i will give him the benefit of the doubt at least.

oh ok. my friend had the 02 SE-r and stock it was kinda weak but he did suspension, cai and exhaust and that thing moved. those cars respond very well to mods. after he was modded he put like 2 or 3 cars on me.

Yeah my first mods were headers exhaut (non fart can) straight pipe no cats, CAI, TBS, ECU retune. Then it was the greddy stage 2 turbo kit i gave it to my brother so i could get my 06 GT. He had it for 1 month. RIP SENTRA!!

wow. yikes. i hope he was okay from that. but yeah theyre seriously underrated cars (not hp wise, i mean popularity wise) they can be made as fast as a s/c cobalt with barely no mods. theyre still not my cup of tea as i dont mess with 4 bangers, but theyre still pretty quick for what they are.

Yeah it was a hella fast car and the torque was insane. But my bro was fine he didnt get a single scratch on him the lucky bastard. He was driving down a country road it was a little wet on the roads but a porsche passed the car behind him and then passed him but what the prsche didnt see was the 90 degree turn in the road ahead so he cut back about a foot infront of my bro and slammed on the brakes my bro slammed on his nudged the back of the porsche and lost control he flipped endo twice then took out 60 ft of barbed wire fence coming to a stop right next to a big FU$%in tree.

All I can say is that there is a lot of bad info here. 1.) it is very possible for a a 99+ V6 (MANUAL) to beat an old 5.0. Generally the 5.0 would have to be an auto, or a very bad manual driver to loose, secondly the car would have to be bone to near bone stock and race against a lightly to mildly moded sixer. Now 94-95 5.0s stock do 0-60 in approx 6.1s manual and 7.4s auto, 99-04 V6s do 0-60 in approx 7.8s manual and 9.0s auto. Their 1/4s, however are a little closer, the 5.0 original official ratings were 14.9s in the 1/4 for a manual, and mid 15s for an auto, the 99-04s are generally around 15.5s with a "GOOD" driver in a manual, and low to mid 16s with an auto. Now on the flipside, if that old 5.0L does a few bolt ons and the sixer is gonna be toast, especially if the 5.0L has a ported/splitport/high flow intake swap done, with that mod alone, it puts the 5.0L near 99-04 performance ratings, key word there, near, not at. Now as far as you hp gains go, the tuner, DID NOT, give you 10-15 hp, you may of gotten 5 hp at best, and that's if the guy that tuned the car knew what he was doing. Trust me on the tuner, I had a 98 and the best we got was 5.4 hp out of the tuner, and don't say that 99-04 respond better with the tuner, because in Mustang Enthusiast Mag, they put a custom tune on a stock sixer using the Sniper tuner, and they best they got was 6.1 hp, granted your car has some light air flow work done, so I'll give you the benefit of a doubt and say 7 hp "TOPS".

Now I will say this, nice kill, but don't get too cocky, becuast 80% of the time plus, those old 5.0Ls are gonna own your ass. But keep up the good work on the sixer.

for 1 reason..

tells me he has full exhaust being long tubes and flows. Also he has CAI and a short throw shifter
A stock non pi gt? Yeah i can believe it. This is a 5.0 that was modded, and i dont know if you guys realize that, but those 5.0's respond pretty good to mods... I had beaten a couple of non pi gt's in my 05 V6 that was modded.. and I am a decent driver. I had a friend that had a 01' full bolt on V6 (fenderwall cai, 3.73, gt tires, shorty headers with o/r true duals, triax, diablo chip, suspension) and he put down a 13.8 in the qtr and he is a damm good driver - good enough to work for the state of Fla. The 99-04 V6's are lucky to see 160rwhp, with as much torque as a civic si.. I dont want to hate on V6's because i know they can be made dammm fast, but you're not going to tell me that one with a chip/cai beat a 5.0 with header back exhaust, and an intake and that he was either trying or knew how to go from first to second gear.
Face it, your chip... doesn't give you that much hp on your car which is basically stock and which is a V6 - your cai maybe gives you 2-3rwhp. That's like me saying im going to see the same power increase in bolt ons as a 3v, LS1 or a Terminator

A 2001 V6 with intake, exhaust, gears and a chip will run 13's? On street tires no less? Did you forget to add nitrous to the mod list? My 300+ horsepower LS1 barely runs faster than that.

But remember Tommy your crapy LS1 is nothing compared to the topend of the almighty V6...

yeah i was gonna say the same thing about that. i wish that were true but yeah right.
but for real, some dont give a v6 SOME amount of credit. i know that v6s arent fast and ill be the first one to tell you that. however, i sorta believe him just because from that one experience i had so thats why im not calling bs on this guy.
