Not sure what you boys call it. From a dig is it?

Here is what I am thinking. And please correct me if I am wrong but this is what I have read and learned from reading on here. Torque wins races. Right? Ok. So our v6 mustangs have a lot of this torque right? Cool. I am ok with that. So my mustang does not go fast on the highway. That is all right. It cannot get around a jerk driving a benz or a nissan maxima. Thats ok. but what i want to know. Is what can we beat from red light to red light?

So if a guy pulls up to me in one of those 350 z's(I forget who makes them. Infiniti?) And winks at me revving his engines can I beat him off the light and make him look like the ass he is. I know if it was a 1/4 mile till the next light I could not. But say it was 1/8th of a mile. Could I then? Can our cars do really well from the "dig"? And if I added a tuner/cai would it be even better? Can we always for the most part beat front wheel drive v6es from the dig?

Thanks!

Be careful. A 350Z will smoke your a$$ from a dig driver for driver...if its a 16 year old with a rich momma you may have a chance (assuming the Goddess knows how to handle her wheels).

no way could we take the 350Z or anything in that class. you will be able to take BMW 3** and old style M3s, the sn95 or older gt mustangs, civic si's, preludes, gti's, jettas, every acura except the nsx, eclipses, the "fast" focuses, charger (or magnum, not sure which one has a v6) with the v6's

....many other things considered to be "pretty fast"....cant name them all off the top

That's a lot and neat!!! Ok so no 350z...what is 300 hp at the crank? Is that what the mustang GT does?

the 350z compares a lot to the mustang gt

however,
in a straight line, the mustang will win
on a autoX track, the 350 will win

Yeah the new GT has 300HP at the crank(engine). You are gonna lose some power getting it to the wheels.

oh, to add more to the list...

miatas, lancers (not evo), RS's (wrx's will lose to us in a longer race too), legacy gt's.....i have beat an rx-8, but from what i hear, they are very fast but take a very good driver to make them reach it....so i wouldnt count on us being faster than every rx-8 on the street, pretty much it goes from dirver to driver

Press papers say GTs pull 300, but I'm not sold. They don't feel like it seat of the pants. Crank means the HP coming out of the motor. Once the tranny, driveshaft, diff, and rubber dig in it'll be less than what comes out of the motor.

why do ppl think 350zs are so damn fast? Ive yet to see a stock one run better than 14.4 in real life here, and that guy was damn good at driving. Most of the stock ones run high 14s, or low 15s. Even with heavy heavy mods, they barely run low to mid 13s, and thats with a damn good driver.

my friend has an 04 g35 coupe, headers, intake, tune, exhaust, and 305 tires out back, and his best time is 14.9. He spent 33k on his car, including my mods im at 23500. 10k less, and im almost a full half second quicker.

Those cars take a serious driver to get the power down right, otherwise u spin, or bog. Thats what happens when u dont have torque to match/exceed ur HP

That is pretty impressive!! And good news too. So is it a safe statement to say this. Our cars are fast OFF the line or from a DIG and can take many other cars. But on the freeway its a different story all together. Which is fine. Because most people that want to race me are always at a red light revving their engines. i do not race them because I do not know if I could win and plus its not safe. But it is nice to know that my car is powerful at least. 210 HP just does not sound powerful. But I guess that is where the torque comes in right?

So what if a nissan maxima will ride me. I could beat him from a dig. I think lol

Oh and just out of curiosity...what would an 04 gt vs. an o5 v6 from a dig be like?
