Default transmission noises

argh, transmission noises again........

i hope theres nothing wrong with the car (again...) but the transmission makes alot of noise, it makes like a winding sound (well duh), and a sound like its crushing ice you know? or like churning around slush... its hard to explain, i dont know if this is normal or not because my 240sx doesnt make any noises at all like that, neither does my chevelle.

it almost sounds natural but just enough to make you wonder... wtf is that?

The Tremec 3650 is a pretty noisy tranny; reminds me alot of my old Muncie RockCrusher.
But the crushed ice noise? Eh ... that may not be good.

Getting a little bumpy in here...

Might be tough to manage the other noises, but anyone tried recording it?

my tranny is one noisy SOB.
Makes some crazy ass clunks , has quite a bit of gear roll over noise and gear lash is pretty noticible.
At first i thought it was a bad tranny, but the dealership said it was normal and showed me a bunch of technical bullietins stating it was normal.

But it sucks, because when you are crawling around in 1st gear with a butt load of rattles and vibrations comming out of your car people stare at my car likes it going to self implode on itself.

You can drive around it (in fact you can have a lot of fun driving around it - just always keep it loaded and shift fast), but I did not have to drive around my '85 T5 this much...
