Hey guys. I've always liked mustangs but unfortunatley never owned one yet. My last car was a '96 camaro that I just repainted at the shop I worked at, I repainted it Sonic Blue, yes a ford color, and I was in a serious accident 6 days after I had it done. The car is now totaled and even though i'm taking a huge loss on it, I want to buy a mustang. I've worked on many at our shop and several of my friends own foxbodys. So i've grown to really want one over the years I had my camaro.
I'm going to look at one this weekend near me
I was wondering a few things. Most of my friends cars aren't stock and the only friend I have that races his car at the strip has a charger on his so I don't really know much about the situation. But what would I expect to run stock at the track if I was really good at shifting in the 5spd. It is a 89. Of course, i dont' even think this car is stock let alone me keeping it stock what could I expect to run with a descent exhaust, and intake to start out with? Thanks for the help guys. Hopefully this car will look as good in person as it does in the pics.
Ted

damn dude. that car is sweet lookin. i like the color and i REALLY like the Mach 1 wheels on it. adds some pizzaz to it. but either way, being bone stock, depending on how good of a driver, high 14's-low15's. with mods, it can only go down(unless you spin a lot), then, youll need traction adders(traction bars, subframe connectors and ESPECIALLY control arms). but, w/ a 5.0, it doesnt take a whole lot to get power. GOTTA LOVE IT !! AND I DO !! but, welcome to the forums. hope everything goes well with the car. looks GREAT. hope it just runs as good as it looks. keep us posted.
