Yeah I am thinking about putting underglow on my Stang and I was wondering if it was illegal in Massachusetts. I thought it might be because the cops are not very liking to loud exhaust noise. But, here is the kicker, in my town a frecking cop has an Honda S2000. I wonder what kind of car that is and how it can be used for around town driving?

Thanks

I don't think the type of car would matter, and to my knowledge no one has laws against neon's under a car - although I wish a Federal law got passed banning those retarted things. Thats my opinion, their not cool in my book. Too ricey.

I don't know about MASS but in CA they're ilegal to have them on while driving, but you can have them on if the car is parked --- I seeing only one stang with those neon light's and I looked nasty --- but if your still going to put them on make sure you drop your car reall low, otherwise it won't look good at all.

Well, hp really depends on the color - the green ones give the most up top but cost ya some torque

They are illegal in PA while driving, but ok while parked. And as far as the green ones popping you another quick 15 hp, that is incorrect mdv... they give a whopping 150hp, that's why you can only have them on while parked in PA. Yhe only glow that you will ever see coming from under my car will be from the red hot pipes. To all his own, I don't think they fit with stangs

you guys need to stop reading those damn import tuner magazines. true tuners know that the pink ones offer the most hp. they're limited edition jdm neon lights. read a book people. jeez. actually, i used to have a set of green ones on my stang before it became an import craze. there weren't even laws about them when i had them. even the cops were like, "i haven't seen those before." they used to tell me that as long as they weren't red, orange, yellow, or blue, they were ok.

its even illegal to have them on inside ure car if the light is shining up

i have them inside my car but they r under the dash so they shine down onto the feet and a cop pulled me over (45 in a 20) but he said the lights were ok because they wouldnt distract any other drivers.......(lol they r red and blue also...impersonatin an officer)

i see people drivin with underglow on here on the North Shore but y risk a 200 fine...

You guys are very wrong.

It is illegal to have ANY SORT of AFTERMARKET LIGHTS ON YOUR VEHICLE in MA unless it is DOT approved.

So that means, ANY NEONS that may illuminate your interior are ILLEGAL. It is also illegal to even have NEONS mounted to your car. If the cop wants to be a real jerk he can fine you for having them on in a parking lot.

Neons are stupid anyways, I don't see why you'd even be concerned about it.

Illegal in mass while moving, okay while parked, but they need to be DOT approved. I can't think of a set that has been.

I would take the money and buy performance for the car, looks second.

If you are on private property that isn't yours, they are still illegal.
My friend tried this in court, he got stuffed with a $400 dollar fine. They are all out illegal to have on your car here.

It's just a matter of the cop who pulls ya over and how bad of a mood he's in.

But, my point is - you can take it to court and you will lose.
