I already have one and installed but just saw this on v6 mistang stuff Most V6 Mustangs with the 7.5 inch rear end never came stock with a T-lok (limited slip differential) which allows both wheels to have power to the ground. Usually only one wheel, the right-rear wheel has the power. Upgrading to a T-lok is one of the best modifications you could ever do.

It says most did not come with one. What does that mean? was there a certain build date they stopped putting it in? could help someone trying to get one

From what I know, I dont think any sixers came with a tlok. I know I will be getting one soon.

No V6 comes with an LSD. It's a good upgrade, I would definitely get one.

When you update gears and add T-LOK are these two separate parts or do the gears if you order T-LOK come together as one part? And how many more RPM's do you turn if you upgrade to a 3:73 rear end gear.

The ring and pinion gears are ordered separately from the LSD. T-loc is a spring/clutch type Limited Slip Differential and you also might want to look into a Detroit TrueTrac which is a gear type LSD. As for the RPM's; at what speed are you talking about?

3.73 gears you average about 300-500 more Rpms. 1st gear will pull to 20 mph instead of 25 mph, 2nd goes to 30-35 mph instead of 40 mph. Top end cruising at 80 mph you are turning right under 3000 rpms.

I actually should revise my numbers a bit. Yesterday I took a good look at my rpms and on the freeway at 90 mph I was turning 3000 rpms. There is no reason for me to find out how fast I'm going at 5000 rpms in 5th gear. I was surprised the freeway was clear enough yesterday to let me go 90. Also, we make most of our power in this car between 2500-4000 RPMs. Given that, here are the shift points I came up with in my manual V6

1st gear 20-25 MPH
2nd gear 40
3rd gear 60
4th gear around 80
5th cruisin'

I'm no mechanic but that is just regular driving on my car. I could probablt push all those gears more but its probably not worth it.
