I'm finding this hard to swallow, but will if substancial proof is provided, and on my word if this is indeed the first auto to break into the 12's, and I mean the first!!!! Then I will call Modified Mustangs tomorrow and get Pete a article.

I know this, but it seems like with a blown 6 we can only run with cars that are in the minor leagues. But you get what you pay for right?

so your telling me you can get a v6 mustang at 500hp? time to slap on the GT500 body kit....right. i mean i dont mean to piss anyone off. i am just really frustrated with all this talk. I dont have the money to add a blower, and my first car was a v4 so you know how i feel with power. It just feels like that i wasted my money on car that gets its ass handed to it by little Hot wheels ricers. Sorry i am just venting people so dont totally chew my out. *looks out the window* wow my pony looks really good. haha

If you would have done some research before buying your V6 Mustang you wouldn't be complaining now. If you thought you were buying a race car you were fooling your self, there are countless cars out there that can kick our asses, but dollar for dollar we have a very respectable sporty car that is better looking than most cars at twice the price.

Ok, V6 Deluxe is about 19,995, GT Deluxe is $25,995, a difference of $6,000. Now if you spend $4000 on performance Mods you could probably be as good as a GT and save $2000. If you spend $6000, you can have GT's for breakfast for the same price. I don't have any mods on my car yet so correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not sure what the prices are on mods.

One thing that I still don't understand about torque and hp: based on the comparison chart, each cars have different torque @ differrent RPMs. Does that mean that that is the highest torque and hp at those RPMs? Does Torque start to decrease if you increase the RPM? So if for our Mustangs, 210hp @5250, will the HP not go any higher if the RPM goes up like the accord's 244 HP @ 6250 rpm?

The 268 hp Camry also starts at $25,000 bare bones with no options, and goes well into the 30's. So for that kind of cash you're talking GT prices anyway. If I had that kind of money, I still wouldn't get one.

EXACTLY!!! Based on price the Camry really needs to be compared against the GT... NOT the V6... LOL!

In you guys defense, I'll say that they should compare equally priced cars with each other. That's really what the auto industry does anyway is give you a certain amount of power for a certain amount of money. Let that Camry mess with a GT. Then the pecking order is established.
But what if the Camry came in a V8?

Exactly bro.... exactly

I'll yell ya right now if you can or could have afforded the GT insurence wise and gas wise and you get approved for it. Why the hell did you get a V6?!! LOL

Your going off one example too. You keep letting your friends wifes Camery get to ya. I can keep right up with GTs on the street too bro when I was NA with my gears.So...... LOL go get a GT its just going to be worse when people like me beat you in your GT lol I mean as it seems to me you don't have ambition to fix this V6 up why would you have ambition to fix a V8 up? Cause it has more displacement? goofy lol You'll just end up on the gt forums asking how you got beat by a 350Z LOL

Ok, this is more doable. These are the details I was after. Yes, a high 12 second run is doable in a manual on this setup with a good launch. As for caring or not caring, simple one sentance answers when you make a claim like that will get you this type of response, even from me. Not trying to bust up on you, just let you know if you are gonna drop a 12 second run down, expect questions. Honestly, no one has done it yet that is not shop owned, so its a big deal. Once you post your slip, you will be the fastest that we know of which is really cool.

As for your car, sounds like you need a better auto tune on it if it is the stock Vortech tune. Or did you have it professionally tuned? Who did your auto tune? Also, Justin did a write up and some tests and came tot he conclusion that the Vortech is a more efficient unit, so I wouldn't give up on it.

So keep us posted, and do you have any pics of your old car? I would love to see that hood and front bumper, sounds bad ass.

All I got to say to this whole thread is BS

It's so obvious. Unless you raced in reverse and the camry was in drive.... this is starting to smell alot like rice-a-roni. It's impossible to believe that a camry could take a blown v6 or even keep up. I had a friendly run in with a wrx sti this weekend and he could not keep up with me. My buddies have 05/06 Modded GT's (Gears, CAI, Exhaust, and tuned 5 speeds) and they still can not keep up unless running DR's.

Basically --- a camry is now in the same league as a WRX sti! come on .... this sounds like BS or some Procharger propaganda from some forum trying to make it seem like a vortech is just not enough. Maybe it was some bad Procharger exposure with leaky units etc... This is too funny to keep reading anymore. Maybe this camry has a turbonator installed - lol

enough of this...

EDIT --- If your buddy had NOS ... then he was just looking to f with u. Even with NOS it's a little bit of a reach - either way ... lets get some pic's ... that would make us all believers ;) And like Rygen said - have your tune rechecked. Do you have an aftercooler? Maybe much firmer shifts would help you alot too
