I understand about some people wanting to get a gt, but look at it this way, When you buy a gt, u pay for all the extras that are better than the v6 or non existant in our cars. Well if your into modding, you are getting rid of those parts anyway that you pay for in the gt, e.i. brakes, wheels, and etc. Yes the gt puts out high numbers to begin with, but you end up getting rid of the parts you initially paid for. a v6 can be in the 400-500 horsepower range, so if your looking for something like that, its a good deal when you just buy a base v6. Now yes, if you want to be in the 700-up hp, you are going to need the gt. But the v6 really isnt that bad

ps. Screaming, was that you i saw in i think modified mustang?? (the mistress)

Why yes it was! LOL!

The picture was from last fall.. before the hood scoop! LOL!

I seriously fear for my life in my V6 sometimes.. I'm afraid that if I had a GT, I would have my brains all over the asphalt by now.

have you run your car at the track? 299... assuming this is an automatic? How did you launch? If it is in fact an automatic, how firm are your WOT shifts?

As luck will have it, I was driving in my friends car this afternoon, a v6 stick with CAI and a performance tune, headers and exhaust work, and some other small bolts. A black camry comes buzzing along and passed on the right line (it was the new one with the puffed body and duals). My friend tried to get close, but the guy keept on gunning it, finally some traffic and my friend is behind the Camry in the middle line, a hole opens and the camry goes right passes and cuts left in to the open lane, my friend dowshifts to third and floors it get right in the camrys ass and proceeds to dart to the left downsifting WOT...........

The camry was four cars lenghts behind and matching 110 - 115 something like it but not gaining any ground (restrictor like ours maybe). Finally my friend pulled to the middle lane and as we looked at the young driver he didn't even look our way.

I don't agree with racing in the road!!! but I didn't have a choice about it.

So yeah I wonder about the blown pony loosing to a camry with minor changes.

It may have a nice HP number but I swear the camry guy tried his hardest and got seriously spanked.

Sorry don't want to make you feel bad, but It happened exactly as I told it. may there is something wrong with the pony as you said, I am not sure how fast the camry is from a dig, but from 60 - 113 it was slow.

You guys kill me. Who cares if you're beat. Twenty years from now there isn't going to be any 'Sport Camry' clubs or 'Avalon Clubs' because those cars are stupid looking, soulless transportation appliances that history will forget. A couple of weeks ago I brought my 06 stang over to show my 12 year old cousin. I opened the door, she sat in the car, put her hands on the leather wheel, paused, and said in a halting voice, "Oh, my god . . . " Yea, I don't see that happening in a Camry. And I don't ever see Jacqueline Bisset getting into a Camry either. ;)

Before I got my stang I wanted to go the practical route--a new Corolla or perhaps a Subaru Outback--the 4cyl 175 hp version. But you know what, I kept dreaming of the stang. Once a product gets into my dreams, that's it. I have to have it. Either that or suffer. No matter how big Toyota gets, I'll never dream of their cars.

LOL, I have no doubt. Pre 07 V6 camrys are like 200ish HP. The 07 is the clincher, its got the increased HP. However, the comment about the GT looking sweet, the GT always looked sweet. We all love the GT's and the V6, but have no doubt about this. If the Camry walked a blown stang, it would more than walk a stock GT.

Besides, this quote says it all....so well said:

"Twenty years from now there isn't going to be any 'Sport Camry' clubs or 'Avalon Clubs' because those cars are stupid looking, soulless transportation appliances that history will forget"

Yea, here is what we need, three lane drag strips. Camry stages in the center lane, all modded, with its ugly ass body kit. Punk ass driving it thinks he's a bad ass, and then Scrming and I stage up right next to him, the BOV of the turbo and whine of the SC filling both sides of his car in a Stereo affect. Punk pisses himself, lights go yellow...then green, his car spins....our cars dig...front ends come up and all he sees is tail lights way down the track as he wheel hops his ass down the track.

Keep in mind I'm asuming he has a power adder, motor mounts, whatever suspension goodies he thinks he needs. LOL.

Sorry, don't usually do fiction, but couldn't resist on this one!!!

How many lbs of boost are you running? List your mods? If you ran a 12.8, you are the first auto to break into the 12's. Lets see a slip. Also, what was your trap speed on your 12.8 run, and your 60ft.

And you ran a 50 shot on top of this, sorry, I'm usually a laid back guy, but this I got to hear. Lets see some pics? What nitrous kit are you running? What rpm are you spraying at? What is your bottle pressure when you spray.

Ok, fair enough. But with all of that, you had to be spinning off the line, what other mods are you running? How were you putting it to the ground, what kind of tires were you running?
