I bought a couple of aluminum parts for my interior (2003 GT):
- Aluminum Bullitt-style pedals
- Aluminum radio knob
- Aluminum headlight knob
- Aluminum interior door handles
- EL-glo white-faced gauges
Ok.. so these came in the mail (except the gauges are on back-order).... The pedals look like total garbage, and there's no way I am putting these on my car. They have plastic backs to them... who the hell wants plastic in their pedals?!?!? So you know what not to buy, these are the pedals I got:

Ok, so the radio knob and the headlight knob look pretty good. Does anyone know how to install these? No instructions! *doh* I read something about the stock headlight knob having a release on the side of it that you pull out with a little flat-tip and then just yank the stock knob out. Although.. the thing I was reading also said that it can be a real bitch to get off of there. The replacement comes with a set-screw, so that makes sense.
As for the radio knob... do I just pull? lol.. I am a little hesitant.
The door handles came with instructions... have to take the door panels off, then dremel off the hinge pin holding the stock handles on. That sounds risky... thinking maybe I should take it to a shop for that one.
The guages would seem like a hard mod, but from what I've read it should be pretty easy... A couple of torx screws holding the cluster bezel in place, then some screws holding the cluster itself, and out pops the whole thing. The mod I got doesn't require me to remove the guage needles... just slips over them.
So.... the point of this post is to ask if anyone has done mods on these items, and if there are any pointers you could give. Things to watch out for.. horror stories... tell me how easy it is.. whatever.. any feedback appreciated!
Oh, and one last thing.. I would really like to replace my shifter knob with something that has a little aluminum in it like the Momo Combat shift knob (http://http://shop.store.yahoo.com/racinglab/momcomshifkn2.html target=). I really like the ergonomic designed knobs like this (i.e. I don't like ball shifters)... I just think that the stock shift knob is a bit plain, and I'm adding some accent pieces elsewhere, so why not the knob. Now, I haven't bought this knob because it's aluminum and black, and my interior is dark charcoal, so that would look a little funny. I guess I could throw a black shift boot on too, but that would look kinda weird too. Anyone have any suggestions, or know of a good shift knob that matches the dark charcoal interior better than a black one?
Phew, this is a long post.. thanks for reading. ;-)
