Does anyone have a flowmaster muffler on the single exaust V6? Im talking about the American Thunder axle back. I checked the stickey on exausts at the top of the page but unless i overlooked it, i cant locate a sound clip with the single muffler. If anyone has one, would you please give me your opinion on the sound. I would really like a deeper sound, but i dont wan to convertr to duals. I would also like to know how it compares to using a single GT muffler. Opinions please.

If you want a deep throaty sound then get a Vortex single. Meineke carries them and it shouldn't cost you more then $180 muffler and labor. It's rated better then the Flowmaster by the guys who have installed both. I love mine. I don't have a sound clip for you though but it's sounds really impressive. I had a guy pull up to me in a Pontiac GTO and ask what I had under the hood of my GT. Of course he blew me away, but it felt good to hear that he thought I had a GT.

I had them also add a 4" tip and the price didn't go up.

Moonbaby1973.. i just installed a 40 series deltaflow flowmaster exhaust a couple of weeks ago & i'm
happy about the sound of it & performance also..In my opinion i think the flowmaster would be a good choice. My Stang is 2006 V6
Satin Silver. It was only $120 installed w/ a Ss tip.

I have the flowmaster american thunder axle back muffler. It is starting to sound really good. At first I wasn't so sure, but the sound is getting a lot deeper. I like it! Butt-dyno says the car performs a little better now too. I got on it pretty hard this morning, (someone pissed me off in traffic) and got a 2nd and 3rd gear scratch. fun fun fun.

How many miles did it take for the Flowmaster to sound good? I have a single Flowmaster and it's been on for about 400 miles. I think it sounds good now. Will it only get better?

I have about 500 on mine, it sounds a lot less "tinny" and deeper to me now. Not sure though, sounds like we are at about the same point.

I don't have any comparisons to any other mufflers but I like the sound of my flowmaster. Installed for 153.00 in Maryland.

Shadowhax, does the muffler install without any cutting to the rear facia? It almost looks like you had to do some cutting around the tip. Did you have to cut?

I don't much about the Flowmaster but I do have a single exhaust from MRT and I love it. The rumble you get at idle is amazing, although the price for just the muffler was $225 putting it a slightly higher price than what you're looking at.

for a single no cutting is needing just unbolt the stock muffler and toss that one on, the reason mine looked cramped was becasue my bumper was offcenter due to a lancer that hit me, but its all fixed now, just make sure when you put it on after about 50 mile retighten the cclamp that comes with the muffler to eliminate the possibilty of it coming loose and rattleing ..
