Just a note, UDP's on our cars don't show significant gains for the price, I wouldn't bother with it, the TB or TB spacer. Ultimate performance!!!!!

Drop a crate motor in it with a twin turbo at 40+ lbs of boost!!!!!! LOL.

The new 4.0L is a solid performing six! You will be suprised what a CAI/Tune would do for this car. I would go with one of the following:

CAI/Tuner Combo

• Doug/Bamachips: XCAL2 and your choice of TI or C&L CAI. (When I switched to his tune for my old TI, it shaved off 3/10ths on my time, his daily driver is an auto as well, though I think he has several test mules/test customer cars at his disposal)
• Evolution: XCAL2 and C&L (lot of guys use them, they have a good rep, actually met them at FFW, good bunch of guys)
• AZDynoChip: XCAL2 and ? (don't know if they do the internet thing, they will tune any CAI and produce some of the highest dyno numbers)
• Lidio/Alternative Auto: XCAL2 and CAI (I did some research and several shops referred me to him for Automatics, his personal daily driver is an auto)
• Brenspeed: XCAL2 and C&L (another highly reputable shop)
• Justin/VMP Tuning: XCAL2 and ? (Considered one of the top dogs for the V6 stang community and collaborates with Doug on occasion to my knowledge, he’s also tested more CAI’s on the same dyno session than anyone I’ve seen so far, read about it here: http://www.v6power.net/vb/showthread.php?t=25551 )

You can find links to most of the above tuners here: http://www.mustangforums.com/m_1189936/tm.htm

Then, after that, I would look into the following:

-Axleback exhaust (MRT is the favourite and Scrming dyno'd it to show the highest gain, sounds kick ass in single configuration IMO, can be challenging in a dual configuration IMO but can be done)
-LSD
-Gears
-Tires/Wheels (Saleen, diversified and Casco have good deals on GT take offs, like others have said this is a good cost solution, I think diversified is the favourite around here.)

Then, after all of this, I would start talking Zex (Nitrous), Turbo or Supercharger. What are your plans for the car, street, track or both? That helps decide the route to take with the car as well.

OK Karie...

Now seriously...

1. How fast do you want to get this done..... over night.... over the span of the next 3 months... or you don't care.

2. how much are you realisticly wanting to spend... not this hypothetical "Unlimited Funds" stuff.

Most people start out with a CAI and a tune.... see where that takes you...

Then exhaust...

If you want a true JUMP in HP.. the turbo or blow it.

Keep in mind - as you pump up the HP... it will effect other things like handeling, so you will have to beef up the suspension.

And... what do you want out of your car..... Strip machine.... Road Machine... blend... You have to take those things into consideration as you decide to what extent you want to make your mods.

I was like..holy crap--thats scrmings car..lol. It was cool seeing a familiar car in there though. So yea, kinda off topic, but i just had to say it. Congrats on being in modified mustangs--thats freakin awesome.

Dude are you insane???? She obviously doesnt know much about cars (no offense). You don't tell someone that doesn't know what they are doing to get nitrous. That is a recipe for disaster my friend.

how much power do you want? if you want a street friendly F/I go with the xcharger. it will be 4200 (i think) which includes the tuner from doug at bamachips.
if you want it at the track go with the PH turbo. its more expensive, and it doesnt have as much low end torque as the x charger, but it does put out about 40 more hp. the turbo is not as friendly on the street.
explorer express hasnt updated there site yet...they make the x charger. you can always order it from **** like i said.
the turbo is at www.powerhouse411.com
vortech makes a very friendly kit. i personally dont like it b/c its a centrifugal s/c and i just dont likem, but to each his/her own i guess.

again this is my view on things, if i'm wrong someone correct me please.

Superchargers more streetable than turbo's?? First time I've heard that. I'd roast my tires wayyyy too much with a supercharger. Better Mileage with Turbos on the street as well. I do have to say that the stroker kit that is gonna be coming out is always in the back of my mind .

yeah... that confused me too! LOL! The X-Charger is probably going to be the most harsh since it full boost comes on so early... so from a "street friendly" point of view it might not be the best choice... like you said, I'ld be roasting the tires at every stop light... the X-charger will make your car drive more like a On / Off switch than a Turbo or Cent. S/C. The turbo and Centr. S/C build their boost in a more "street friendly" way in my opinion.... Now don't get me wrong, the X-Charger is not a bad choice... but it's certainly no more street friendly than the turbo or cent. s/c.. and in my opinion it is probably less friendly.

You can safely run 75HP and even 100HP shot of N20 on stock internals... I probably could have kept running the 125HP shot if I had put a window switch in and set it for 3000 RPM..

and you can safely run F/I on stock internals.. just look at the powerhouse car!
