Hey everyone, I just got racing stripes put on my 05 White Mustang. It looks incredible, but Im not sure if I over paid. Apparently they used a laser to make sure it was placed on just perfectly. Well I paid $600.00, and Im pretty sure I got ripped off by the dealer. Im just looking for some feedback to solidify my hunch.

Your hunch is solidified...never let the stealership do any wok that isn't warrentied, they make their $$ marking up stuff like accessories and install for them.
BSM's pre cut kit is like 120-, then maybe 150-250- for professional install.

I believe mine where about $250 total installed by the dealer. You should definitly talk to them, mine took an extra day to put on because of the heat and the price stayed the same. Sorry to hear about your problem.

How about a picture of the $600 stripes? What color stripes did you get? I got a quote of $215 for stripes which includes parts, labor and tax from a local graphics place. I've heard he's done a lot of stripes and he does a good job.

If it makes you feel any better, I went to the dealer this morning to order all the nuts and bolts I need to install my GT rear sway bar ($48 total for all the hardware, seemed cheap as each individual piece was like 2-3 bucks, but it adds up!), and I asked about ordering and installing stripes for my car. The dealer quoted me ONE THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED AND FIFTY dollars to paint stripes on. If I wanted to install vinyl stripes, then that price was discounted by a whopping TWO HUNDRED dollars, making it a total of ONE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY dollars to install some vinyl stripes. Are they on CRACK?? I'm ordering the stripes for like $100-150 online. Thank goodness for do-it-yourself!
I got mine at www.rallystripes.com for around $35. They were not hard to install. Took me about 2 hours. Quality seems good.
Do you have a picture of your $35 stripes on the car? I might break down and try installing them myself. A sign shop offered me the stripes installed for $200 plus tax.

Yeah, sorry for responding so late, but they are vinyl stripes (black stripes on my white mustang). I talked to the dealer and apparently they didn't do the install, and APPARENTLY the shop that did the install uses lasers and 'the latest technology available'. I asked my ford guy, "Isn't it basically just a large sticker, how much planning and technology is needed?" He just laughed and refunded me $100 mainly becuase it took three days. It does look incedible though, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone with a white mustang. The car is noticebly faster!!! jeje...Ill post pics ASAP.

Didn't someone prove on a dyno that rally stripes add 22rwhp to our V6's????? Glad to hear they refunded you some dough...
