What are the standard tires for a 89' LX 5.0? And what is the best set of tires (4) that I can get for under $500? When I say best I don't mean raceing I mean like if I were to drive it in the rain which would be the best tires for me to get..

225s are what the 89s came with ....same as my 90 LX.
Pep boys have some nice decent daily driving ones for around 80 bucks....of course then they add mounting/balancing/valve stems/ disposal/tax/extra tax/ice cream tax/your feet are too big tax.....well, you know....that'll put you around the 475-500 bucks mark.
Futura GTX II or Ultra Z - both are nice. Visit there site, then call them up and make sure they have it. (clincher....hahaha)
I say pep boys, because I don't know where you live and there is probably one near you.

I searched online for the AquaTreds but it looks like they dont fit the 89 mustang which is I am going to call around tomorrow to check up on that but they are a bit pricey, what other tires out there that are good for all season?

its hard to fine 4 tires for under 500 dollars, my tires cost about 200 a piece, but they are all year tires cause I am a daily driver that goes to High School.
Dunlop Sport 5000 - 225/60r15 $73 each, plus shipping and install. You can get it done for under $500. Go to tirerack, pretend you're going to buy them, print out the page that has the total, including shipping, and walk into a Discount Tire and ask them to match the $73 each price. They'll try to add for shipping, but tell them you won't pay sales tax (if your state has it) if you order online. Mount and balance should be about $10/tire.
The other popular ultra high performance all season that's on the best seller list is the Yokohama AVS dB S2 for $70 each, and it's got a slightly better warranty.
I love the SP5000 on my subaru, but they're 55 series and asymmetrical. The 60 series and taller are symmetrical.

well I went to Discount Tire to check out the new tires and they have reduced the price for the tires I own BF Goodrich, 215s in the front and 245s in the back and they are all $90 each. They are great tires and would recomend them to anyone, I am thinking about raising up my mustang back to stock and just putting huge tires on it b/c my mustang is too low......when you hit a bump the shocks rattle and hit the tires. My mustang came like that when I bought it.
