Default angel eye fog light wiring

Hey guys.. I'm a newb when it comes to wiring so I am sorry if this seems like a stupid question. I got a set of angel eye fog lights for my 01 gt. I think I understand the wiring except for one wire. There are 3 wires coming out of the fog lights.. white, black, and red. I believe the white and black and pretty easy to understand but the red said to hook it to the parking lamp.. now I am assuming that this red wire is the power wire for the angel eye but my question is how do I hook it to the parking lamp? Where is the parking lamp? Any input you guys could give me would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds to me like the red wire is a "sensor" wire so when you turn on your parking lights your fog lights automatically turn on. Or so that you cannot turn them on without your parking lights on.

I would find my psoitive wire headed to my parking lamps and tap into it either up by the lamps or near the switch. Near the switch would be better so that the connections would be out of the weather, or you could just do it near the lamps and wrap the connection up good.

Did they come with a switch to control the lights or is it supposed to be intergrated witht the existing swtich for the headlights?

it came with a an on/off switch but I was thinking of just trying to splice it to the existing factory fog light wiring that way I could just use the on/off switch already built into the consol.

the parking lights wire at the switch should be brown....... It would probably be easier to hit them at the lights themselves but that connection would be exposed. as long as you get a good connection and insulate it right there would be no problems.

Thanks... I figured it out.. I took ttocs's advice and I found that the brown wire was indeed for the parking lights.. I just spiced it into that and it worked great.. thanks for the help guys.

you were helpfull... you said "find my psoitive wire headed to my parking lamps and tap into it ".. that is what I did.. I just also took the direction of ttocs as far as which wire to check first.. [sm=icon_cheers.gif] its all good.
