Best car for the money I had, period. If I'd had the extra 5+ grand to spend on the v8, I probably would have, but that's like saying if I had the extra hundred grand I would have bought a Porsche. It's irrelevant. I bought the V6 because it blew away everything else I could afford.

Great value - alot of car for the money - this is my second car and I use it as an everyday driver. I couldn't see myself spending 30k on a second car (another reason is I would not be able to afford the payments on a GT)
I bought mine right after the verts started hitting the ground in early '05. At that point GTs were still going for well over sticker, and they were rare as hen's teeth. I paid full sticker for mine, so I have the dubious honor of having paid more for a fully loaded V6 vert than most people paid for their GT coupe For an older guy like me the insurance is basically the same between the two.

I test drove the GT, but at the time it was done during heavy traffic. I then test drove the V6 during the same time. I realized that my drive will always be in this type of traffic, so i decided on the V6. It would be greater on mileage, cheaper on insurance, and provided more than enough power for what I needed and was used to. I'm very happy and havent' looked back.
My Mustang was my graduation present, I had a 25,000 limit, simple, I didn't have enough for a GT, I tried my hardest, but I don't regret having a six, it is wonderful.
i chose a sixer because of the overall price, the cost of insurance, and the gas mileage. i am very satisfied.
Nice looking car! It looks a lot like mine which is a Tungsten Grey V6 Coupe with Pony Package, Upgraded interior, single Flowmaster, shorty antenna. I am going to Birmingham over the Labor Day week-end for the Mustang Stampede for the 30th anniversary of the National Mustang club. I am hoping there will be a lot of vendors there with good prices on Mustang parts. Here is a link to the Mustang Stampede:
But me, I'm still on the road Headin' for another joint We always did feel the same, We just saw it from a different point of view, Tangled up in blue.
bought my car the day the new mustangs came out they didnt have any gts so i bough ta v6 didnt really matter to me though i am planning to get a cobra in 6 months just wanna save up so i can buy it cash and pay no premium got 28k right now just need 20 more >_<

hey thanks...is yours an auto as well? Anyways, yea I am only 18 so the insurance woulda been a lot for the GT, gas mileage would have been worse...etc etc
I got the 6 because I thought it would be tight money wise had I bought the GT, now I sometimes regret it as my payment came to about $390 a month and insurance is about $200. Its a joke though because before I bought the car the company said I would be paying $400 a month insurance for the GT and $300 for a 6.. not really sure what happened there. Reguardless I plan on driving this for at least a couple years, few minor mods maybe.
I'll take advantage of my ability to save money (being 20, I live with my grandparents) so I pocket like $1200 a month after car / insurance / gas / girlfriend. Figure I'll have enough for a cobra or something in a year or two :p
I had an acura integra before this car, and the tranny went out. I didn't want to spend the money on a money pit. I had talked to the ford dealer about a used car about a month before, and he called me about a 03 mustang saleen that came in. it had about 48k miles on it, and i took it for a test drive. I was not impressed. It was sloppy and felt like it had been run into the ground. I saw my car on the lot, it is a 05 v6 windveil blue 5-speed with only 2k miles on it. THe price was a little higher than I wanted to pay, but I really wanted it. Here I am, no regrets. Love my car. It's faster than my integra was, quicker than most cars on the road, and I enjoy driving it.
Oh, by the way, I live in Birmingham and had no idea about the mustang club 30th party here. If you have not been, Barber Motorsports Park is NICE. I am there. Hope you all come too.
since gas is like 109234324 dollars a gallon, i cant afford the gas. second the insurance would have killed me. And third my baby caught my eye and i fell in love on the test drive.

I bought my 2006 V6 because with the price of the car, price of insurance and cool look with the Pony Package, the V6 won hands down. The only thing I had to give up was having to get an Automatic so my wife could drive.

Just wondering why people here bought the V6 instead, my reason is b/c of it being cheaper.
Without a doubt, it was the price. My budget was around $20k. I didn't want high payments, so the V6 made sense. It also helped that I got over $2000 dollars in rebates. Not sure if I would have been able to afford the V6 without those rebates. I would have loved to have a GT, but it just wasn't feasible at this time.
